When I moved to Toronto and got back into drumming I went to every drum shop in the city and tried every pair of sticks. I set aside every pair that felt good in my hands. This usually got me down to a half dozen pairs from a hundred or more. The Vater Piccolo was always in the finals. I bought a pair of all the sticks that I liked for whatever reason. The Vater Piccolo won. Best feel of them all. Nice balance, great sound on the ride cymbal (can't stand the sound of the nylon tips). The small wooden tips do get chipped faster than I'd like, but I won't change. I reviewed my choice 2 or 3 times over the years, by again testing dozens if not hundreds of sticks - every type available in the city of Toronto. Again, the Vater Piccolo won out. It's very satisfying to know that I use the perfect stick for me. I know it's true, because I've tried them all. The Vater Piccolo is the stick for me.
