TC Electronic Flashback 2 Delay
Additional Photos:
The new Flashback 2 serves up a sonic buffet of expressive delay by infusing the pressure sensitive MASH technology with T.C. Electronic's renowned delay algorithms.
Completely redeveloped from scratch, the Tape and Analog algorithms recreate the tones of old school echoes with unheard realism, including every little eccentric behaviour inherent in those legendary designs.
Flashback 2 also features a shimmering Crystal delay, made with T.C.'Electronic's own polyphonic octave algorithm from Sub 'N' Up into Flashback 2.
And finally, with 3 TonePrint slots in total, you get more flexibility than ever, and all the legendary delay sounds that TC Electronic are famous for.
Express Yourself!
MASH reacts to the amount of pressure you put on the switch. The harder you press, the more intense the effect. MASH is controllable through the free TonePrint Editor which means that you can assign to any parameter and up to 3 parameters at once.
For each delay preset, MASH will control a different parameter and let you express yourself without having to bend down to turn knobs and without the trouble of getting a dedicated expression pedal.
For example, you can assign MASH to raise the delay time as you press down, subtly increase the delay feedback into full-blown self-oscillation, or gradually add and deepen chorus modulation for out-of-tune flutters.

I've been looking at delay pedals for a few years. I own a mono analog delay from another company, which is an excellent pedal with amazing classic tone, but it is missing a few key features. I wanted a pedal that has stereo output, tap tempo and adjustable delay effects.
Up to a few months ago, the Flashback 2 did not offer tap tempo (unless you remove the stereo option and buy an additional switch pedal.) But now you can download the newest firmware and have the option of tap tempo. However, adding the tap tempo means losing the Mash feature.
For me, having stereo input/output along with tap tempo is more important than the Mash feature. You would have to decide what is best for you. My guess is TC Electronic will come out with a new version of this pedal with all three: stereo, Mash, and tap tempo, but who knows when that will be. No Mash still sounds fantastic to me.
The stereo function works really well. I have vocals and acoustic guitar going in and both sounds ping-pong in the right and left channels very nicely. This is a powerful effect. Note: I found out to really get the pan sweep sound (ping pong) you have to set the subdivision toggle to the lowest position.
What sets this delay apart from other stereo pedals is the Toneprint feature - creating your own signature delay styles and loading them into the three slots. This makes your pedal unique to you and can be tailored to your sound. The stock settings are very nice, as well - however some respond better with some equalizer tweaks before the pedal.
The features in this pedal are well worth the purchase. Of course, if I had more to spend, I would be looking at one of the higher-end delay pedals, but I'm not sure I could justify paying double for those. For the Flashback 2, I don't think you can find a stereo delay with anything close to these features at this price point.

Had a Boss DD7 for a while then got a TC Electronic Flashback. Although its not as full featured as the bigger Flashback that you can store presets, it is just as adjustable and warm. I thought I would upgrade to the second version as TC dumped a few of the useless settings in the original like ping pong and putting in crystals and more tone print slots. Well worth the money.

Just purchased this pedal and it really does all the things you will ever need a delay to do. I love the analog delay on this baby!
