The OCD, after 12 years of minor tweaks, now receives a change different enough that it warrants a V2 designation, an explanation and warrants a trip to your L&M to give it another listen. Not a subtle change when turned on; not a subtle change when turned off (in E.B. mode).

Sonic changes to OCD V2

NEW FEATURE output buffer (when pedal is turned on in True-Bypass mode, or always when in Enhanced Bypass mode) which eliminates it from being influenced be effects that came after it. Translation, your sound remains consistent regardless of placement in today's more complex signal-chains, loopers, and pedalboards. This buffer also had a positive effect on the sound, it reduced loading on the pedal's hard-clipping stage, allowing more sustain of both the sound and the overtones.

NEW FEATURE Class A configured discrete 2N5457 JFET input section, raising the input impedance to 1 mega ohms (previously 330K) and increasing the dynamics, resulting in significantly better interaction with both single coil and humbuckers.

NEW FEATURE Internal switch to choose between "Enhanced Bypass TM" & True-Bypass, and with no popping sound in either mode.

I have a serious GAS issue and the main issue has been trying to settle on an overdrive/distortion effect.
The OCD has settled that issue. The two voicings are amazing, the optional 18v or 9v makes it pedalboard friendly whether it's batteries, daisy chained or a large isolated power supply.
It works great when stacking effects too.
Can handle clean subtle tones to all out distortion with ease.
Just try it out and see for yourself.

I would run out and buy one today if the power source wasn't
located on the side of the box. For me, it makes it difficult to add to a daisy chain/pedal board.

Love love love this pedal I put all my effects and junk in my effects loop on my JCM 2000 50w my OCD front end and holy cow the tone the drive the response is incredible I can’t get enough of it , it’s tough , reliable and easy to use with any tube amp , you’ll just keep it on , for solos I’ll just ad more hair on top with my tube screamer and I’m in heaven . Love this pedal it’s worth the cost of this unit .

This pedal sounds great from subtle overdrive to heavy distortion. It is built like a tank and the when turning the knobs you can really feel the quality like no other pedal I have bought to date. Very well priced.

This is a very versatile overdrive/distortion peal. I play it with single coils and a Fender amp and it's decent! Can get anything from subtle overdrive to mild distortion! I like stacking it with a Tube Screamer in front, it gives me the crunchy tones I'm looking for.

This pedal really drove home for me how a good overdrive can sound in front of a high gain amp. My Marshall DSL40cr has never sounded better on the ultra channel. Beyond that it has a great array of sounds you can achieve. It genuinely sounds like a tube style distortion and you can really easily dial it in any way you want it, from a clean boost to a heavy rock / punk distortion. I had been torn between this,a blues driver, and a tube screamer, but I have no doubt I made the right call with this one.

This is a very versatile pedal. Take some time to try different combinations of drive and volume with your amp. Can be used for everything from a clean boost to amazing distortion. This is THE go-to pedal on my board.

This pedal sounds great with all my amps. Favorite plugged into my 68 ri deluxe reverb. I found that HP setting sounds best with humbuckers and LP best with coil split or single coils

I finally bought one 2 years ago, wondered why I had waited so long. This is a truly great distortion pedal for rock playing - Led Zeppelin in a box! Use 18v power if you can, this does make a difference. Very simple design, every knob is useful. Works perfectly for anything from a clean boost to heavy classic rock distortion. Also pairs well with others - put a boost pedal or overdrive pedal in front to push it into Santana-style sustain and beyond. Can't recommend it highly enough, clarity, power and a very musical and useful overdrive.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
