The amPlug2 headphone guitar and bass amps have recently received major improvements in both the sound quality and feature set. The amPlug2 Cabinet follows suit with increased output power and more flexibility. The output of amPlug2 Cabinet has been increased to 2W, letting you enjoy guitar/bass sound while taking full advantage of the amPlug2's potential. Setup is easy; just insert the amPlug2 into the dedicated jack of the amPlug2 Cabinet, thus transforming it into a tabletop mini-stack amp. The latest amPlug2 Cabinet even allows you to connect your guitar directly and use it as a stand-alone mini-amp. You also can connect an external audio source via the new AUX input and jam along with your favorite tracks.

I bought one of these to go with my Vox AmPlug2 and it's a pretty good companion to go with it. Although compared to the sound you'll get with the AmPlug2 straight through headphones it is noticeably inferior, and it struggles with higher volumes on battery power. However with a 9v DC adapter it makes quite a nice small amp setup for playing at home if you want to play reasonably quietly but not through headphones, and it's okay on battery where you haven't got access to mains.

I bought this a couple weeks ago, because I needed to have something small and portable for my trip to Ottawa on the long weekend. For what it is it works pretty good with the amplug, and it’s perfect to bring to a small gathering. Although the tone is not great it’s definitely good enough to use at bedroom levels, since it’s not that loud and you can not bother your neighbors. One problem I did have with the speaker cabnit is when you used a battery and played with the gain and volume high on the amplug, the speaker would subtle start cutting in and out. I found that if you use a cable to power it instead of a battery then the problem will be fixed, however this is something to consider for portablility. Overall if you need something small and portable for your amplug, I would recommend considering this as an option.
