I sold my Taylor bt2 and missed a smaller acoustic. Small form factor, picked it up on a whim. Sounds great plugged in and unplugged. Awesome for playing in the bed or on the couch. Shallow but loud enough. Action is quite high, but easy fix by getting a new saddle and sanding it down. Also replaced the tuners for $40 because it wasn’t holding tune the best. Overall great value, and I actually recommend it over the Taylor bt2. Without even considering price.

I bought this a few months ago while looking for a parlour size guitar. I tried many and was mostly not happy with the tone of the smaller body guitars, considering the prices. Then I tried this Beaver Creek one. I had dismissed it as a cheap Chinese guitar to give a kid as a birthday gift. It sounds like a small guitar but it is well made, looks good, and the price was low enough that I didn't have to think about it much. Until I find the parlour of my dreams, this is great for travel, campfires, practice on sofa. Has built in tuner. When plugged in , the sound through an amp is full and satisfying. Note, I found the action a bit high so I sanded down the nut and bridge. I also find the neck is short - think playing with capo on 2nd or 3rd fret. For small hands, this is good. I'm happy overall with this guitar.

got this one after struggling between Yamaha APXT2 and this. Baby Taylor is out of the radar as costing more though I like it sounds surprisingly warmer closer to Nylon Guitar. Its jack outlet is also tighter than Yamaha and BeaverCreek. I didn't buy Yamaha as its tuning pegs not smooth, sound with more echo, no 3 EQ band (only tone control). BeaverCreek sounds better than Yamaha to me. The action, the intonation, construction, loudness (perhaps due to rounded back), smooth neck with no sharp Fret edges all make it better choice than Yamaha. The phone jack not tight as Baby Taylor but not loose. LM sells it cheaper than elsewhere. I believe LM is clearing all its display stock (they called it NEW) then stops stocking. Needless to say, it is not a popular brand name as Yamaha. That's why it is less noticed and overlooked. I highly recommend this over APTX2. Yamaha has been paying less attention to their production of entry level models made in China.

I bought one to busk here & there, nice sunburst finish. With a portable battery amp it sounds great! The pickup, tuner & controls are very good, the neck is only a slightly shorter scale and comfortable. The only con are the tuners, after I changed them it's rock solid. Overall, a real value packed little gem, sounds good unplugged too!

I've owned one of these 3/4 sized dreadnoughts now for a number of years, by Beaver Creek. I loved it so much, I bought one for my son for a beginner guitar. The quality is really good, and the sound is even better. The action is perfect on these, and they're just so wonderful to play. Bad back? No problem, just sit back in your easy chair and pick away. Although, I do have a couple questions that maybe someone out there can help me with. I just sat down to put new strings on it for the first time and the nut fell off. I can see the original, mild glue marks. I guess my first question is; I've read to use woodglue, watered down 50/50, and only glue it on the edge that makes contact with the fretboard. (For easier removal later, if needed by using the block of wood trick, and a good shot against it from the side) Not the on the bottom of the nut. Is this true? Also, does anyone know if the original nut and bridge that came on these are bone? Or something else? I figured since it's apart anyways, if there's a possibility of upgrading to bone, this may be the time. Or is that foolish ? Anyone out there with some wisdom that they don't mind sharing, would be greatly appreciated ? Either way, love this lil guitar, and everyone that has ever picked it up, love it as well. Well worth the $!!!! Jeff Clarke

I'm an advanced player who owns Taylors, Fenders and Yamahas. I saw this guitar in the store and picked it up to try just because of its size. I was super impressed with the action, the higher quality tuners and electronics that you normally don't get with a low-end priced guitar. The sound was also very impressive for its size and quality, so I bought it. My only complaint is that the jack doubles as a strap screw, and it's extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) difficult to attach a strap to it. If not for this flaw, I would have given the guitar a perfect score. Quite impressive for the small price. Oh, and it comes with a travel bag. Great guitar for beginners or a travel guitar for intermediate and advanced.

For its price you get a very solid and great sounding guitar, crazy finish and all the bindings looks hot! The electronic made it even better. This is the perfect size for me as I can keep it around me everywhere and my practice time just shoot up the roof vs having to go get it everytime. Personally I dont like the guitar too loud when practicing for a long time the body size and volume is just perfect. Minor issue is the fretboard has tiny scratches but im not complaining for everything im getting with it.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
