Designed with an emphasis on analog, VOX's MV50 combines classic amplifier design with new and innovative production techniques to produce a miniature amplifier with truly monstrous sound. Boasting an incredible 50 watts of power, this one-pound package serves up serious guitar tone that's reminiscent of your favourite old tube amps. With speaker and line/headphone outputs, the MV50 is perfect for the stage, at home, or in the studio for direct recording.

The MV50 is equipped an all-analog pre-amp circuit that features Nutube, a revolutionary new vacuum tube that produces authentic tube tone at a fraction of the size. Paired with this innovative pre-amp circuit is a reliable and efficient Class D power amp that has been specifically designed for the MV50. From warm, natural cleans to dynamic overdrives, this power amp has been engineered to respond to the nuances of your guitar and, of course, your technique.

Though designed with the compact BC108 in mind, the MV50 is a perfect match for nearly any speaker cabinet. The EQ switch on the back of the amplifier features two distinct settings, FLAT & DEEP. When connected to a small cabinet, such as the BC108, setting the amplifier to the DEEP mode will emphasize the rich low-frequency range and prevent the high frequencies from becoming too pronounced. When connected to a larger, more conventional speaker cabinet, setting the amplifier to the FLAT mode will allow you to take full advantage of the characteristics of the speaker cabinet, without emphasizing or reducing any frequency range.

When it comes time to practice or record, the MV50's line/headphone out can be directly to a mixer, audio interface, or your favorite pair of headphones.

Great amp, nice tone, good value. It has a line/headphone output that I use to color the sound when doing DI recordings. Despite it's tiny size it's definitely loud enough to disturb the neighbors if you live in an apartment. Luckily it has an attenuator switch so you can crank up the volume to bring out it's bite while keeping the sound moderately low.

Just got this very small amplifier and hook it up with speaker cable(s) to have the controls right next to me and the classic Jensen speaker cab up on a shelf... wow, this thing is LOUD, if you want it, but really nice and clear. The good staff at L and M on Pembina really know their stuff, inside and out. My only very minor gripe is the on/off switch is in the back, right next to a connection?! I got used to it and I’m SO glad I got this one, sounds way better than it’s small price might have implied. Shut your eyes and it sounds like a fantastic crystal clear tube amp! Well it is tube, just way smaller, buy it.

I've always wanted to switch to a head/cab setup vs a combo amp but the size has always discouraged me from doing so. Not to mention that the other small or micro head/cabs I've tried have never sounded that great...until now that is. I've had the MV50 Clean for about 8 months now and really love it. Sounds great, easy to transport and it is built really solid. I definitely recommend the MV50 series...so much so I've also decided to pickup the MV50 AC as well.

I love this amp so much I bought 2. I am running 2 of these amps with 4 bc108 and I have to say wow! I am running 1 as a wet amp and 1 as a dry amp and the two together sound so sweet! It has such a tone and clarity, beautiful clean and amazing with pedals. I love the attenuator for late night rocking. Best of all it weighs noting, my broken back could have used this years ago. If you are on the fence about this, go for it especially if you are a pedal guy, it is definitely worth it! Got it at LM Laval, great service! Thanks Biaggio!

What a killer product! 1/2 the size of an iPad & only 1.19 lbs & the sound is absolutely fantastic. Lots of volume & enough controls to be useful with a pedalboard or a pre-amp. I tried it with a 4x12 Marshall cab & although it's not as loud as a 50 watt Marshall head it's very respectable. I ran it without any pre-amp so the guitar was plugged in directly to the VOX NuTube but I'm sure that the pedalboard will add whatever additional umph that's needed for live stage work. After running it for 15 minutes the cas was cool with no heat build up whatsoever. I've ordered 2 of these to run a stereo rig onstage & was going to buy a Mesa Boogie 50/50 stereo tube amp to pair it up with the Headrush pedalboard but am very happy to have tried this first because it knocks off $1,000 from my total investment. Thank you VOX & KORG for developing such an incredible product.

Sturdy and wee, with useful tone. Of the 3 "micro" amps I own, this amp is the best sounding. I wish it had an effects loop, but pedals sound good in front it seems. The atenuator is a feature I love. and is loud enough at its lowest setting to get a decent recording without having to crank the mic pre's. Pretty sure with 4 ohm speakers it'll keep up to drums but, cant say for sure.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
