THE AMP FOR ALL OCCASIONS
Capable of 0.5, 1, 7 or 15 Watts of output the Rocker 15 is an extremely portable combo that moves seamlessly from the home, to the studio, to the stage. Finally, a small, two channel, bedroom-friendly all-valve amp that you can legitimately gig!

With the Rocker 15 set wide open, smaller venues are comfortably taken care of despite the amps miniature footprint. Thanks to a custom Voice of the World Gold Label speaker and beefy transformers, the Rocker 15 has a remarkably potent delivery which takes full advantage of its EL84 output section. Even when scaling back the power, the amps tone stays fat and full, oozing warm valve compression and saturation without disturbing the neighbours.

Clever options aside, the Rocker 15 has real character - a twin channel design with a twist. The Natural channel is a purist's dream with just a single knob: Volume. Finely balanced and supremely playable, this channel is perfectly voiced to bring out the 'natural' sound of the instrument under your fingers (or the pedals under your feet). The Dirty channel is a more familiar affair with controls for Gain, Volume and a three band EQ section. Both channels are very sensitive to touch and playing dynamics, making Rocker 15 very versatile despite its straightforward, player-friendly layout.

The amp also features a proper valve driven effects loop for total purity from input to output. So, whether you need a rig for low-volume practising, recording, or to be heard on the club circuit, the shape-shifting Rocker 15 will show itself to be the amp for every occasion.

Very light and compact and simple to use. Just need to find the happy medium with the power attenuation. The half setting is not that loud so switch it up to full power. I use the bedroom setting over the headroom setting as its too loud otherwise. Also get the footswitch. Its added cost and kinda bulky but you need it to switch between clean and dirty channels. Makes no sense why they don't include it for the price. Like another said here the access to the back panel inputs like effects loop is a bit of a pain as its at the bottom of the chasis. Also the stock speaker is not good. Too midrangy. So I tried getting a 10 inch Greenback but no stock. So I got a 12 inch my fave speaker. Had some issues trying to get it to fit. The only way to do it is take the tube guard off. The speaker sits very close to those tubes but luckily no damage. Had to make a few new screw holes too but the sound is really good now. For the price you would think they could use a better speaker.

This amp gives surprisingly good cleans, (two cleans) and an absolutely top-shelf gain. It also has some of the best power scaling available. It doesn't have reverb but I'd rather get that from a Collider or Strymon.

After having Marshalls, Fenders and Mesas I thought I would try out what Orange was all about. From the sounds of things for high gain it looked like a worthy contender with High On Fire, Mastodon, Slipknot, etc using them. The gain however is not quite up there like Marshall, Mesa, EVH or Diezel but its probably 90%. Just need an overdrive pedal to tighten it for rhythm or with focus for leads. This also is a tube amp. I had one of the solid state Crush amps before, the 20RT, but it had no effects loop so I thought I would switch up.
The overall tone is very distinct with a slightly flattened midrange, not like Mesa Boogie with scooped mids but like a "darker" Marshall. The stock speaker, some hate it, some love it but it works for me. Besides overdrive you can EQ further with a pedal.
The Crush was easy to get a tone, but the Rocker took a bit longer to get to bedroom level. The knobs are sort of the same as the Crush, two channels, the clean with one volume, the rest is for the heavy channel but no reverb or built in tuner. It has built in attenuation with a bedroom/headroom switch and that corresponds to a half/ full switch on the main panel. At bedroom/full setting and volume at 2 this thing is LOUD. I can only imagine what headroom setting is at full. The obvious difference between tube vs solid state is a tub amp is clearer, warmer and projects sound differently vs the Crush amp.
The only negative is the back inputs. They are not readily seen as they are underneath. Also is a shame they don't enclose the cabinet like the Crush as the tone is not as tight. Guess an easy solution is to back the amp up tight against a wall. They don't include the footswitch either and I would recommend it. I have it. Its rather big and clunky but necessary to toggle between channels.
My fave tone is surprisingly not as dirty as one would think.
The only negatives I can say about its tone is I am still tweaking it, not for high gain but more for stoner sludge type of rock sound. So far its working pretty good in tandem with an Ibanez Tube Screamer that I only kick on for leads. I also use the MXR Ten Band EQ to adjust volume without getting up to adjust the amp.

It’s a very portable 1x10 combo, weights 31lbs, has 2 channels and switchable 15/7/1w all tube. It is exactly as they advertise it. It can do just about any genre you like, from jazz to modern metal. The clean channel just has a volume knob and that’s perfect for me. The dirty channel rips as good as any other Orange amp I’ve owned. Don’t let the 10” speaker fool you. It sounds huge! Big, thick, and full sounding.

Owned for a few months now. Overdrive channel is very aggressive with the gain around 3 but maxed out, it becomes too muddy and mushy. Orange amps tend to have this very dark character about them but this very present mid range sound, making it a very distinctive sound. The clean channel sounds very good for only having a single volume knob with no adjustable EQ. I run an OCD with the tone switch in LP mode and it sounds great, really hear the true character of the amp. The single 10 inch speaker isn't able to achieve the sort of bass response I was hoping for, even with the bass knob dimed. As the speaker broke in, it definitely became better but leaves much to be desired. After one of the JJ 12ax7s became microphonic (I understand that tubes can go bad at any point but only being played at bedroom levels for maybe 20 hours, this shouldn't have been an issue) I did a complete tube swap. The stock JJ's sound good but once you start playing around with other EL84s and 12ax7s, the tone of the amp really opens up. I would recommend replacing all JJ 12ax7s with Tungsol 12ax7s and changing the JJ EL84s with the TAD EL84s which have a much better bass response. The switchable wattage is a nice touch but I leave it in the full 15 watt mode as this provides the most bass and tone in my opinion without sounding tiny and fizzy.

I picked one of these up on sale some months ago at the Fredericton location, after significant online research. I didn't really check it out at the store as I mainly wanted to get it home and crank it. The build quality on this is excellent, truly not a flaw to be found inside or out after having had it for several months. I haven't had a single issue either through the stock speaker or with an extension cab (Traynor DHX112). The natural channel with a decent set of humbuckers takes you up to some mean ACDC tones if you crank it, or really most any classic or reasonable hard rock. Zeppelin, Rush? Yes. With the EQ set to noon across, the volume maxed, and the gain at one notch below noon the dirty channel matches the Natural channel. Bring it up past noon and you're easily in the gain range of early Metallica, and still with plenty more on tap. Just EQ as needed to shape your sound, and you'll probably find what you're looking for. The EQ is very responsive. This amp isn't going to give you crystal clean jazz sounds, and it also isn't going to give you super tight, low metal sounds either. It'll get pretty close though, and anything in between is just waiting to be dialed in. With the stock 10" speaker you could jam comfortably with a full band or a drummer. If you're going to play out with it you'll want to push more air though, so I'd consider an extension cab or the head version that's now been released. Overall: great sounding and extremely versatile amp. Great for an at home player or someone who wants to jam with a couple of friends. You'll have the most fun if you can crank this up. The Natural channel maxed at max power is truly an experience worth the cost of entry, but the power switching means you can get pretty close to that at volumes that won't hurt the neighbors (unless you're in an apartment).

This amp is so versatile I couldn't believe it. The Bedroom/Headroom feature works wonders for jamming alone or with a band. The simple controls also make this amp so easy to get killer tones. I play rock, blues, metal and jazz and this does it all. I do wish it was a little more affordable but then again, it's Orange and you get what you pay for.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
