I owned it for about a year and then sold it. The main reason was that it just didn't deliver for its price point. Funny thing is, my Pacifica 012 (which is half the price of this one) actually sounded and played better. I'm not sure about the quality of mid-high end Ibanez guitars, but I definitely will not be buying lower-end stuff from them. If you are considering this guitar, take a look at the Yamaha Pacifica 600 series. It offers twice the value for just $200 more.

Bought this guitar used from L&M for $350 (taxes included). The finish and feel.was really good and all the frets felt good. The guutar is light and easy to play. 5 way selector offers a wide range of tones. I can play anything from metal to blues and find a good tone. Stays in tune, fast neck it is very comfortable to play. The Quantum stock pickups are surprisingly good, I may still swap them at some point, but not need to now. Overall, the price new is a steal for this guitar. The price I got for it used, for the quality, feel and finish of this guitar makes it one of the best finds I've made for a guitar.

What an amazing 6 string electric guitar for a price that didn't scare me off at all! What I loved was the neck was nice and thin and the weight of the guitar was perfect, not so heavy and clunky like other guitars. I don't mind a matte or eggshell finish like other people minded on this comment board, because I have played enough other electric guitars from various brands that have been dipped in gloss lacquer, which I am not a complete fan of. But each to their own right? I recommend this guitar for those who want a steal of a deal and a quality guitar at the same time. Plus the color is nice. Who doesn't like blue!? Buy it plz. I'm about to! :)

Walked into my local L&M looking for an amp and saw this hanging on the wall. Played it and instantly loved it. Frets are all great and can get action low. Pickups sound good and responsive and the 5 way switch helps with different sounds. Neck is thin and fast. Only place it could improve is the finish is a little 2D for a flame maple. Otherwise excellent guitar. Get this if you want an Ibanez metal machine without the Floyd.

Bought this a few days ago. It plays very well and has a nice rich, smooth tone. The finish could be a bit better, but for the price it's a great deal. Looks great and is very light. Very happy.

Got this guitar a week ago. It looks and sounds great. Minor imperfection in finish, but for this price, couldn't ask for more. Knobs came little bit loose, but not a big deal, that's an easy fix. The neck is a little bit thin comparing to what I've used to play, but after 5 minutes it becomes unnoticeable.

Got this one a few months back. At first I wanted to get something a bit more expensive like a cheaper prestige or something, but I settled on something a little easier on the wallet. And I have to say I'm really impressed, the guitar feels very nice to play, the arch top body is very comfortable, the wizard neck is very quick and feels very agile, and the pickups sound great (especially with the tonal diversity between the split hums and the regular hums) better yet, this sounds great with high gain and cleans (of course depending on your amps). Can't recommend this one enough.

I got it as an end of schoolyear gift along with a fender gt1 amp and I love them both, I learned my first solo on this guitar and it will forever have a special place in my heart. It plays well and I can't believe the price, real value.

I bought this one week ago today at L&M Fredericton. Seven days later, I am pleased to report that this guitar has blown me away with it's quality, tone, feel, weight and looks. For $550 new, you are not going to find a better guitar on the market. Great fretwork, amazing pickups, fantastic tuners, comfortable bridge (it took all of 5 minutes to intonate), lightweight and looks killer. You owe it to yourself to give one of these a go - you will come into the store with one belief, then back out of the store with one in a box under your arm with a different belief. I can't put it down!

This guitar looks and feels amazing. The price is also great too. The sound of it is really good too. If I was to be picky I would say that I have heard guitars that sounded better before, and it goes out of tune a little easier than what I'm use to. No big deal though. I do think this would be an amazing guitar to own for sure. It was also nice that it was super lightweight as well. Definitely would recommend this guitar

I tried it today at my L&M store in Trois-Rivières. This is simply a steal since I found the neck more comfortable than on my previous Prestige model and that it was really well finished. It feels sturdy and seems very stable. Someone could easily make an awesome guitar out of it just by switching the actual pickups for something more high-end. Probably my next buy.

This is a very good guitar for anyone looking for that Ibanez RG style without the trouble of a floating bridge. It is surprisingly light, but still feels sturdy. I'd say the only department where it's lacking is it's finish. The frets are rough and the buttons and switch don't feel very smooth. But the rest of the guitar is everything you would expect from an Ibanez.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
