The Spree at Kelligrews is based on the Newfoundland folk song Kelligrews Soiree written by Johnny Burke. The song tells the story of an eventful visit to the festival which is still held at the start of the Conception Bay South tourist season each July. This version provides melodic opportunities for each section of the band. This folk song arrangement is part of a collection for young band celebrating Canada's 150th anniversary since joining Confederation.
