Low tension....The sound is Loud and Warm
The RARE phosphor bronze acoustic strings are a departure from the standard, good quality bronze string currently available. They're not necessarily better, but possessing a new, different, and stronger "voice". When DR set out to produce a string with new characteristics, their goal was to redesign contemporary thinking about what phosphor bronze can do for a good acoustic guitar. Hand-carved arch-tops and dreadnaughts and good steel string acoustic guitars of rosewood, maple, and mahogany seem to benefit from a distinct improvement in tone, depth, and sustain with RARE phosphor strings. Players who want a fatter, louder sound, a deeper bottom (who like to hear their guitars ring out) will appreciate the RARE phosphor tone, sound, and feel. According to our heavy-playing bluegrass friend, three-time national guitar picking champion Steve Kaufman, RARES last an unusually long time.

Tried theses strings on my J35 and to my surprise they sounded dead and uninteresting. I was very careful when installing to insure that the core didn't slip and still th A string was just a dead thump with no ring at all. I know folks who love these things but for me, no thanks.

I've tried these strings twice. Once on a Epiphone Texan and again on my Gibson J35 both times they were disappointing. Despite me being very careful putting them on The A string is just a dead sounding thud, when playing with a pick they are way too jangly and tinny. When finger picking they are listless and dead sounding with no volume at all. pretty much useless. Will change them tomorrow.

I've been looking for a low tension string for my Martin D28 to make playing easier. These strings are amazing and made my D28 play like I have never experienced. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to lower tension on their guitar.

I love these strings. The 12's are my go-to. They sound great, they last, they hold their tuning. These are way better than coated strings. I also have a set of Pure Nickel 10's on my Les Paul.

They are great. i had been using coated stings for a while because i found uncoated strings would die too quick. these strings are uncoated and actually last longer than any coated set i've tried
