3 completely independent channels, each with EQ, Reverb, Gain, and Volume. Adjustable level Solo Boost that works for all channels. Global Volume to adjust the overall amp volume after setting up the different levels for each channel. Footswitch to select channels, and turn the boost, reverb and effects loop on and off. Nice cleans and any level of crunch and distortion you want. This amp is not cheap but it does everything.

I’ve owned this for about 2 weeks now and I gotta say.....Wow. This head is like a Mesa/jcm800/evh 5150iii all in one. It’s like a Swiss Army knife of amps. You get the build quality of Mesa with a very evh still layout and sound. But with a Marshall style British sounds hiding in the background. I bought this so I could play all kinds of music and styles. It does it all. May personal favourite is the blue channel boosted with an overdrive. It’s very clean but hard rock. Solos jump out and are liquid to play. I’m a Marshall guy but have always loved mesas build quality. This is an all in one head.

This is one of my favourite amps I have owned yet. Each channel is amazing and nails all the wonderful Boogie sounds and more. When I say 'Boogie' I'm talking the great smooth and dark distortion sounds of the Mark and Dual Rectifier amps. However, the amp never feels too compressed or loose. It covers soo much ground and is insanely flexible. Its dead quiet when changing channels as well, no pops or other noise. The noise floor is also very good, you can get a lot of gain out of each channel if needed without noise. What impresses me as well is the build quality. This amp is a very solid brick, nothing feels cheap at all. The tolex, switches and knobs all feel really high end and built to last. At the same time though, the amp is quite light for a head of this size, only 35 pounds. Its bigger than a lunchbox but not as big as a Plexi or similar big amp which to me is the perfect size. The features are wide scaling and this amp comes with everything you will ever need. I should mention as well the volume controls are the best I've used on any amp - bedroom, studio, stage; it sounds amazing even at whisper volumes since you have 2 master volumes to work with with and a high quality taper. As for the sounds, I'll start with channel 1. Channel 1 to me is what you expect out of a Mesa clean channel. In this amp depending on the power tubes, it definitely gets in the Fender camp or Mesa Lone Star. Bright and sparkly, but the high end is never harsh or fatiguing. It sounds very, very good and not what I expected out of this amp. It also has an overdrive switch on channel 1 which is essentially like throwing in an overdrive pedal. If you stack another overdrive pedal, surprisingly this channel can get into full distortion if you want it to. It is the most open and least compressed channel and you can do almost everything in this channel if you want to. Channel 2 is the inbetween channel, and this channel to my ear is very British rock sounding. More gain than channel 1, but a little more compressed and warm sounding. You can practically get any classic rock or classic metal tone out of this channel. It also works really well with a boost or overdrive, or you can use the tight switch to also achieve similar results. I love running my Fulltone OCD into this channel, I got it sounding as good as any Plexi type amp or better with lots of crunch and clarity.. just the perfect rock and metal tones. It also sounds just right for lower gain blues or rock as well and you can hear every string loud and clear when strumming power chords. Its not like other high gain amps where things turn muddy, this amp somehow retains string clarity so well. Everything feels 'alive'. Channel 3 is of course the high gain land and I totally love this channel with not too much gain. Just over 50% on the gain and you get a ridiculous amount of sustain and dark distortion sound.. very much like a Mark amp. I run a boost into this and it makes playing through this amp effortless. You just don't want to stop playing it. I use this channel for fusion and progressive metal sounds but surprisingly it can get still get very clean when you turn the gain down or even just light breakup. With a lot of gain, you can do all kinds of thrash metal or just about anything the Dual Rectifier can. So overall, I found nothing I don't like about this amp. If you like the sound of the Mesa amps but want something that can also get you into more British rock sounds and very easy to dial in, this is the way to go. Not to mention it can take any power tube 6V6/6L6/EL34 and you have an amp that can totally change with the flick of a switch. Its worth every dollar and you will not regret it.

I've purchased quite a few Mesa amps in my life and I've pretty much sold them all for one reason or another. They are very good sounding amps and built like tanks but there was always something missing... In come the TC-50 and changes everything. This amp is a players dream come true. It seems to have it all. Great tone, multi-channels, reverb, a great master volume midi capabilities, and so much more including cab clone! If you have not already tried this amp don't walk but run to the store and plug into it today. You will thank me later.... Its hands down the best sounding Mesa amp out there including the new Fillmore 50 they just released.

This is by far the most versatile amp I have ever used/owned/tried. If you can't get a good sound outta this thing, its not the amp. Currently using this in the studio for everything from blues to progressive metal. Top shelf gear.

This is hands down the best amp I've ever played. However note that it is a British voiced amplifier, but in the absolute best of ways. It has the most musical overdrive/distortion sounds I have ever heard straight from an amp without any supplementation. You do not need a pedal to boost the front end to get that tight attack we all love in the higher gain sections, this amp has excellent natural compression. Each channel is absolutely incredible. It's like having 6 amps in 1, I cannot stress that enough. Plus it has MIDI control which is a first for Mesa, well done.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
