Lush Life Music Oh Johnny, Oh Johnny, Oh! - Rose/Olman/Collins - SSA Vocal/Jazz Ensemble - Gr. Medium Easy
Additional Photos:
As recorded by The Andrews Sisters
Composers: Ed Rose, Abe Olman
Transcribed/Adapted: Myles Collins
Format: Score and Parts
Instrumentation: Vocal Trio (SSA) and Jazz Ensemble
Style: Swing
Level: Medium Easy
Oh Johnny! was another early hit for the Andrews Sisters and it has been reproduced here for you. The chart has been adapted by expanding it to full big band form, up from the smaller band which was used to back the sisters. Also, the chart has been written out in the key of C, rather than the key of B which some recordings imply. The reeds are scored CAATB, though an extra tenor part - a transposition of alto 2 - has been included, making the reeds CATTB, to give you flexibility in your sax section. The vocal parts are written in for SSA voices and are 'as sung' by the Andrews Sisters. This is a really bouncy number, and great fun to play.
