I rented it for about a month and i enjoyed it. The tone is nice and it's worth investing in. The only problem is the bass is heavier.

The bass is nice (ish) the look is great. I found the bridge to be of low quality so I swapped it out with a hipshot bridge - what a difference, increased tone and sustain. I also put on some expensive flat wound strings. I had to set it up myself - which I recommend every player learn how to do. I like the bass but I hate the neck dive - It becomes tiresome after a few hours of playing having to constantly hold up the neck - also hard to have a drink while playing. Price is decent if you want to spend extra on a better bridge.

I've owned one of these for several years. In spite of my having a number of other basses, which were more expensive than this, i keep going back to it because of the variety of sounds. I play each week with a group of old rockers and we do mostly play rock, some country, blues and the odd jazz tune. The two songs I always reach for this guitar for are: Green River by CCR and Valerie by Amy Winehouse and then there are Neon Moon and Boot Scootin Boogie by Brooks and Dunn. This guitar is pretty versatile. It is a little top heavy compared to my other basses, but it can be dealt with and you get use to it. This is my first Epiphone and It has certainly changed my mind about owning guitars that are not MIA.

I have played bass on and off for over 35 years now, however I do not consider myself a musician by any stretch of the imagination. For the last ten or so years I have only played acoustic/electric basses. Five days ago I bought this bass after trying out about 20 or so other basses in the store and I fell in love with it! I look forward to picking it up and playing any chance I get. The quality of my playing has improved considerably since then. The range of tones that I can now achieve due to the control of the pickups, volume and tone controls along with a neck that plays well for me make me want to play everyday. Not all of us are destined to be professional musicians, but that doesn't mean that we can't enjoy playing music. This bass has sparked a new interest in music for me. My only hope is that anyone reading this finds their passion in music as well and pursues it to the best of their ability. Cheers!

Just bought this bass tried different bass in the store but this one had a perfect setup, action just right, no visible flaw and it's easy to dial a tone you like with it. Really enjoying plaing with this one. And to top it off it's not the short scale version but the full scale at 34". Also great service in the store

My first bass and my first guitar from LnM. What a beaut. 100%satisfaction. A coupla negs- neck needs minor adj. Big honkin chunk outta the left front and then repainted. Uhhhmmm. I can still see it. No filler??? Plays like a bass should. Great tones and action but it fails on the lowest notes F. F#.G. could you fix that please. I love this ax. Especially for $200 on black friday.

Been renting this bass for a while now and love it. You can get a huge variety of sounds. Gotta love that SG design. Tuners are fine tuning wise, stays in tune pretty well. Only thing I have to say bad about it is that Its a little neck-heavy, so just a warning to bassists who are used to lighter necks. Overall, great bass.

I bought this bass about 2 years ago, i really like this bass really nice sound, however it is neck heavy, the volume and tone controls are so so, it holds its tune amazingly i practice with it every night and i check it every few days for tune but i only need to tune it about once a month as it keeps in tune really well, overall a very nice bass for the money

Just bought this bass-moved up from EB-0 to this.Just a couple of points- it is neck heavy- you have to constantly hold the neck- otherwise the tuners will be on the floor. Also, when I set it to treble- I lose all volume- unless I crank up the amp....otherwise, its a very good guitar, and has good tone variances.

From starters to professional players, everyone should give this bass a try! From it's vast variety of tones achievable with the flick of a few switches and knobs, to it's overall phenomenal appearance, you won't be let down with this bass. I've played my (black) EB-3 for about two years now, and it's still going strong! Solid bass! 9/10

These basses are very appealing I always loved the SG body shape. Beautiful tone and sustain. The bass is MASSIVE. It can be a little awkward to play. I hated it at first but once I got a professional set up it has played beautifully ever since. Sounds great very Jack Bruce esque with roto sound strings on it.

ive owned the eb-3 for a year now and i love it . the tone is perfect for punk and metal. the only problem i had with this bass is changing the strings is hard due to the bridge and the neck dive gets on your nerves but overall the bass is beautiful

just bought this bass2 days ago and I'm in love already. The styling is great and the sound is amazing. My only issue is the placement of the strap button, becuase it's on the back, I find the neck droping down when not being held. Over all I saw for the price, it's a steal of a deal

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
