Yamaha's new TransAcoustic guitar recreates the experience of playing in a rich, live room without needing any external amplification or effects - just the guitar itself. This is accomplished using an actuator installed on the inner surface of the guitar back which vibrates in response to the vibrations of the strings. The vibrations of the actuator are then conveyed to the body of the guitar, and to the air in and around the guitar body, generating authentic reverb and chorus sounds from inside the body.

Three simple knobs let you adjust the degree of effect applied and the lineout volume level. Additionally, Yamaha kept the controls small to minimize the area of the holes in the body material, thereby reducing acoustic sound loss.

• Reverb Control (Room / Hall)
• Chorus Control
• TA Switch / Line Out Volume Control

Features:

• The body is an all-solid guitar based on the L-series.
• A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series characteristic bright tone while enhancing the low end.
• Treating the tops with Yamaha's exclusive A.R.E. process gives the instrument a rich, vintage quality tone, making it sound as though you'd been playing it for years, from the very first moment you pick it up.
• The fact that this guitar has been designed with an insistence on sound quality is what allows it to produce effected sounds that feels pure and natural.
• Straighter neck taper and hand-rolled fingerboard edges result in an instrument that can be played for hours without any stress.
• The 5-ply neck design featured in all TransAcoustic Guitars is constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies with a double-action adjustable rod, creating a strong, stable neck that resists warping.
• Newly designed battery box is integrated into the end-pin jack. This requires fewer holes in the body, thus reducing acoustic sound loss. Connect the cable from the jack to a PA or amp to use as an acoustic electric guitar.

I was looking for a special kind of acoustic guitar and wow after a year looking for a really cool acoustic ( BINGO) I found it . Love the sound effects they are amazing. It’s a great buy and fun to play with out having an amplifier. Great sound even without effects. I plugged it in an amplifier blues jr and makes me want to just play it all day long accepting my fingers at 75 are not as firm . Stays in tune well and the Elixir strings are the best for sound for this guitar

This guitar is a gift from the guitar gods.
Tylor, Gibson, and Martin look out there’s a new guitar in town and it’s breath taking. The sound touches your soul. I too would have paid twice the price for it. I purchased it at tje Pickering store and the staff them self’s had told me it was their favourite guitar in the store. For all you guitar artists you need to try out this beautiful work of art. I have four guitars and every time I pick up the Yamaha trans acoustic guitar my
wife herself says what an incredible sound for the ears and the soul.

Amazing acoustic guitar and with the trans acoustic feature. making it very inspiring and a joy to play. Fit and finish (especially the top finish) not as good as my other guitar which cost me twice as much, but yes I am fussy. This guitar should come with rechargeable 1.5 volt AA batteries which I finally found on AliExpress. also a spare battery holder would be handy but Yamaha does not sell only the holder but the whole unit for about $85.00; so do not break or lose it. Bought this guitar 15 months ago from Long and McQuade in Tracadie N.B. truly great and helpful people to deal with.

Just bought it. The effects are awesome and I mean awesome, adds a whole new vibe and is an enjoyable experience. The quality of the guitar is decent, it does play fairly well but it's not a Taylor 814ce by any stretch of the imagination. However, the price tag is worth the guitar..throw in the effects and you have really good value that can attend the stage and campfire without fear.

I have been looking at it in various Guitar shops over the last couple of years. I bought an LL16 a few years ago, loved it, but sold it to thin out herd. This is the same guitar, but with transacoustic electrons. It is built, feels, sounds, plays, and is great! It is a must have acoustic. A definite keeper. It puts a smile on my face every time I play it.

Spent more than a week researching this model, listening in youtube how the guitar sounds like with reverb and chorus. It is vastly different from hearing it from the net! I am overally impressed by how it really sounds by your side!!! Like natural shout ‘wow!!’ Comes from my mouth. Now I can’t play any guitar without the reverb effect. It adds so much to original sound that really moves and touches my heart. I feel like I am at a big hall with the sound ringing out all the way. I am also pleasantly surprised by the chorus effect. When I heard chorus effect on youtube, it was a bit disappointing because it sounded artificial and not of a very special function. But when I heard it by my ears, it kind of adds a beautiful tone with a mild chorus effect. And I kind of feel that it increases volume with max reverb effect. The guitar itself is impeccable with no flaws. I love its simple yet decorated design with abalone rosette and marks on fretboard. The vintage model has a orange-like color that suits well with ARE technology applied spruce top. The original sound of the guitar is loud and bright. The sustain and strength of the sound was great that I thought the reverb effect was on. Lol One thing I wish this guitar had is one extra effect rather than reverb and chorus. I’m really impressed with reverb, and chorus yet one more effect would have been very nice (trinity lol). The guitar do have a strap button at the bottom but needs to be strapped at the neck because it doesn’t have a strap button on the other side. The sound plugged in to an amp is great too as you can also apply the reverb and chorus effect through tue amp. In conclusion, before buying this guitar, brand yamaha was to me as unappealing, low-entry guitar brand. Now I al very impressed with its quality and the tone of this guitar. I really can’t play any guitar without reverb!

A fraction brighter than desired with reverb, but the tone is punchy and voiced in a manner well suited to playing in bands, or places that absorb the shimmer, such as carpets, or large groups. One of those guitars you buy when your trying something else ( a Taylor in my case) and listen to someone playing it. I had to have it! And I'm still loving it.

I go way back with a passion for Yamaha handcrafted guitars. I had an LL 20 that I should never have given up! This LLTA is incredible. Without any of the electronic add-ins it is a totally beautiful acoustic instrument. All the electronic features are pure gravy. It blows away all of my other guitars when plugged in.

Fit and finish are superb. Acoustic sound without the ta engaged rivals my Martin dreadnaughts! This guitar is an absolute steal at this price... I would have paid twice the price for this level of workmanship, detail and sound. TA is amazing acoustically AND plugged in. Just a gorgeous guitar all round.

We guitarists can be an oddly nostalgic group of people. We tend to appreciate things designed and built in the late 50's or 60's. Many of us prefer the sounds produced by old radio tubes and we covet aged, solid, "tone" woods. And, of course, we tend to be suspicious of modern technology. Now, despite all of these semi-truths there are some wonderful innovations that have evolved to make our lives easier, and sometimes delivering more joy that I deserve. If I am honest, I plug my guitars into Apple Logic Pro X much more that into my old tube amps. (Shhh. Don't tell anyone.) So, now I bought a Yamaha TransAcoustic - even thought it has a circuit board mounted to the inside of the guitar. I have owned and played some very nice, and occasionally expensive acoustic guitars, I have Custom Shop Fenders and VOS Gibson electrics. And, I can say without reservation that my Yamaha TransAcoustic is 1000% more satisfying to play than any other acoustic I have every played. Strong words? I know, right. But, the built in reverb and chorus (I didn't even think that I liked chorus) make this guitar very, very satisfying to play. And, because you don't need to plug into an amp to get the effects, in addition to it sounding great to me, when other people hear the guitar they are always puzzled because it sounds so great but they can't quite figure out why. After all, it just looks like any other 'cheap' acoustic guitar. I never rush to tell anyone about the technology or electronics inside the the guitar. I'll just let them believe that I am just that-awesome of a guitar player. The workmanship and woods are also great, BTW. Nice job, Yamaha!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
