For years I thought Made in China was synonymous with poor quality. And that is true for lots of things it doesn't apply in any way to the Epiphone Casino. The quality build and playability of this guitar rivals any American made I have ever tried. That says alot as I've been playing for over 50 years.
Anyway I cant recommend this guitar any higher. If you dont at least try one out you are missing a great opportunity.

Got this guitar a week ago and I already love it. I'm a huge Beatles fan and one of my main concerns was whether I should get this Chinese made Epiphone Casino or pay that extra 2k for an American made one. All my other guitars are made in USA but to be honest this Epiphone Casino is no disappointment. For the money, it produces an amazing sound, quality is great, and it feels and weights practically nothing. I honestly love this guitar and would like to thank Long and McQuade in Laval because their service is just always great. They also found me a great and new hard case for it.

I was torn between this guitar and a Epi Es 335 style Dot. Even though it was more money I am happy I went for the hollow body Casino, to my mind the 335 is a solid body and sounds like one (no one ever described Les Paul's original log as 'a 'semi hollow').With this guitar you can entertain yourself on the couch and practice lead solos and other tricks you cant do on a typical acoustic Martin style dreadnought,......all other solids don't have the pleasing audible sound this does without an amp. Make no mistake this rocks hard - think of Malcolm Young's ACDC power rhythm chords! I put a set of .011strings on mine for extra tone and the tension keeps me from over bending lead solo notes too sharp. To balance out the pickup volume I turned the bridge pickup screws up about 3mm. I think many who feel these guitars are too muddy need to tweak these screws as a lot of clarity and treble tones come out. Yah some people feel it's not their favorite guitar shape but wow what a historical piece of gear with 1930s - 40s technology- a flavor you cant beat and does it all except for 1980s hair metal stuff and maybe some Hendrix.

I just traded for an epiphone Casino and couldn't be happier! Mine was made at the Peerless factory in Korea in '98 and has a licensed big Sky too. Light in weight, but heavy on tone, I play this through my Tweed clone clean and I'm in 1957. Throw a distortion pedal on through my Marshall JCM and it again comes to life. I avoided hollow bodies in lieu of solids for a long time, but no more. Love my Peerless Casino! Not a flaw on it!

I have had my Casino for about 10 years. I also have several guitars but this is near and dear to my heart. I love the fact that it weighs very little and the neck is very thin. The p90s sound great. The only flaw I can find were the tuners. I have switched them out to Grover’s and problem solved. I highly recommend this guitar to people looking for a hollow body that is reasonably priced.

This is one of three guitars I own -- the others are an Epi Les Paul Studio and a Yamaha LL6 -- and all three play extremely well. But the Casino is my favorite of the bunch. It's extremely versatile, and the Beatles connection makes it special. I'd recommend this guitar to anyone who loves to play and wants top quality.

I couldn't be any happier with this guitar! I just picked it up yesterday, and cannot part with it. The fit and finish are perfect; not a single flaw throughout. Guitar came perfectly set up from the truly helpful staff at L&M Kanata. The sound is amazing both plugged in and acoustic (for those of us who do most of our playing unplugged on the couch, this guitar resonates really well - I'd put it a little more than halfway between an acoustic and an electric volume-wise unplugged). The neck is just as comfortable as my 50's Gibson Les Paul, and I can definitely see this guitar being great for rhythm or lead. Absolutely love it; it's one of the guitars that will permanently stay in my collection.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
