In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original analog chorus sounds are now reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2Ws Standard mode faithfully recreates the classic CE-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono CE-2. CE-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is made exclusively in Japan, just as the original CE-1 and CE-2 were.

FEATURES

• Special edition Waza Craft pedal delivers the ultimate BOSS tone experience

• Rate and Depth knobs provide fine sound adjustment in both pedal modes

I did have several boss and other brand chorus pedals, but I never kept them. I just did not like them after a month or two since rarely play clean using choruses but, everytime I listen to Johnny Winter, I heard that CE2 classic chorus. It is hard to find CE2 and the price is up there. One day I saw Boss CE2W in the Calgary (north) East Store. I gave it a try. Hm.... I liked it. So I bought that pedal and engaged it with my rig. Oh man, it was so good. Very lush and very smooth. That was 3 months ago, and it is still on my pedalboard til this moment. I know, It will stay with me for a long time to come. Alex of L&M Calgary (north) East Store, I thank you.

I love the fact that it doesn't do the tone suck thing.

It doesn't compete with the chorus on a Roland JC-120, but it's a decent alternative for a stomp box.

Definitely nails the CE-2 tone I remember from my own pedal, and the CE-1 version is great too. Since it's a Boss it'll likely withstand and thermonuclear strike and keep working. My sole complaint is that switching from the CE-1 to CE-2 modes changes the rate of modulation. I'd prefer if this were constant between modes.

I acquired the Waza Craft Chorus back in January of 2018, looking to upgrade from a generic Chorus Ensemble. Honestly, I didn't expect as much at first, until I hooked it up onto my board with my Randall RM50. The tones are a dream come true. The CE-1 vintage setting with a low rate and high depth gave back life to my clean tones. It sounds warm, organic and has plenty enough headroom to spare. The guitar tone is respected very well, and I'd put it up against any other chorus pedals as well as any and all digital modellers out there that have constantly tried (and failed!) to give me the chorus tones that I was looking for. You will not be disappointed. Once you buy this pedal, it's very hard to go back to digital effects. Dear Boss, thank you for giving back life to my clean tones. Fractal, Kemper and Line 6, your services are no longer required.

The Boss CE-1 and CE-2 should need no introduction; as both the first compact(ish) chorus pedals on the market, and widely regarded as the best that analog has to offer, the originals have become incredibly expensive, despite some inherent limitations such as noise, monophonic (CE-2) and AC voltage and an incredibly combersome size (CE-1). Enter the Boss Waza Craft CE-2, which offers the best of both worlds. As a hand-built replica of the CE-2 that also has stereo outs, it's actually a better than the CE-2 ever was. That it also comes with the CE-1 chorus and vibrato circuits as a bonus makes this pedal a must-have, if you can afford the not-cheap price. Pros: Sounds amazing in all three modes. The CE-1 circuit is the standout for me. Cons: Might be noisy in your fx loop (it's really hissy in mine), no level knob, and the stereo consists of a wet side and a dry side (although this is typical of analog chorus pedals). Worth it? Depends on you. Very much for me.

I wish it had a level knob. The depth control makes the tone hollow sounding at its lowest setting. For 303 bucks (after taxes), it doesn't seem to offer much value for the money. Unlike other choruses, this one does not fatigue the ear. My favourite setting is the CE1 chorus. It is darker and more robust then the CE2 setting.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
