Seymour Duncan Custom Custom Humbucker - Bridge
Application:
High output humbucker for use in bright guitars. Great for pop, country, blues, classic rock and heavy rock.
Description:
The Custom CustomTM is our SH-5 Duncan CustomTM humbucker with an Alnico II magnet for warm and smooth highs, more midrange and a spongier bottom end than the SH-5. It's a good choice for players who need a traditional vintage tone with increased output. Comes with four-conductor hookup cable.

Recommended for bridge position. Often a Custom Custom is paired with a Pearly Gates for bluesy P.A.F. tones in the neck.
Guitars:
For brighter toned instruments. Works especially well with maple and ebony fingerboards.
Available mods:
Nickel or gold-plated cover. Trembucker.
Players:
Josh Homme / Queens of the Stone Age, Michael Wilton / Queensryche, Clint Lowery / Sevendust, Greg Hetson / Bad Religion

I replaced the stock Gibson 498T bridge pup in a 2005 Les Paul Supreme and the difference was huge. First off the Custom Custom has a full body richness to it when played clean as apposed to the thin tinny tone the 498T had. When used under very heavy overdrive/distortion, for example a rectifier or a pedal driven Mashall JMP MkII, the tone is very smooth and has a very mid presence. The 498T was extremely harsh and grainy. I personally think the Custom Custom works so well with my Supreme is for the fact that it is by nature a brighter type of Les Paul, ebony fret board with a double maple capped chambered mohagany body. I am very happy with what this pup did for the tone of my Gibson guitar, just remember to apply the guidlines outlined for the type of woods that the pups work best with. In my application with this guitar it was a very 'happy accident'. Thanks Seymour Duncan.
