This chart was commissioned by the King William Jazz Collective in San Antonio, TX. The assignment was to write a "happy shuffle" and you can't help but tap your toe and smile as you listen to this chart. It opens with a Count Basie style piano solo before the ensemble sets up the trombone/tenor sax melody. Solo changes are provided for tenor and bari saxes along with trombone. An a capella ensemble section follows the soloists and sets up the roaring shout section when the rhythm section returns. Trumpet range is to written high C, trombone range is to G.
