I have an expensive double bass. Baby Dove bought me one for a retirement present. After 3 years it became "1st call" for bands gigs. I traded it in for a repaired Shen 190W and with a haircut on top (the repair ) and one on the bottom (the old bass), I could afford it. I loved the Zyex I had on it but after a few years the D string started to get a little fuzzy, I put these on as it was what I could get and I am happy to report a much louder bass that is simply easier to amplify. It is tighter on the top and reinforced my sound post as it was a little "loose" with the Zyex.
