The TRIO+ is a simple-to-use guitar pedal that listens to the way you play and automatically generates bass and drum parts that match your song. Just plug your guitar into the TRIO+, press the Band footswitch to teach the TRIO+ your chords and rhythm, then press the Band footswitch again to start playing with your own personal band! Bass and drum levels can be adjusted for the perfect mix using the TRIO+'s Bass and Drums knobs. The TRIO+ also features a Simple Bass button lets you select between 3 bass line modes for busy or simple bass lines.

Pushing the Band Creator paradigm further, the TRIO+ also allows you to loop and custom sequence your looped guitar parts to create full songs on the fly. Press the TRIO+'s Looper footswitch to record a loop along with an unlimited number of overdubs. The Loop level can be individually controlled using the TRIO+'s Loop knob. Loops can be recorded by themselves, operating just like a traditional looper, or along with the band. You can also apply built-in effects to your guitar signal by enabling the TRIO+'s Guitar FX button, or connect your favorite effects to the TRIO+'s FX Send and FX Return jacks.

The TRIO+ provides 12 music genres to choose from including: Blues, R&B, Rock, Alternative Rock, Metal, Pop, Electronic Pop, Hip-Hop, Country, Folk, Latin, and Jazz. 12 song styles are available for each genre and can be selected using the TRIO+'s Style encoder, including selection between 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures. Multi-colored LEDs around the TRIO+'s Style encoder indicate which styles best match your song.

The TRIO+ can learn up to 5 different song parts, perfect for creating an intro, verse, chorus, bridge and outro. Song parts can be recalled on-the-fly as the song plays back or pre-programmed as a sequence for automated playback. An optional DigiTech FS3X Footswitch can be connected to the TRIO+'s Control In jack for additional handsfree control with 3 modes of operation to select from.

Up to 12 songs along with loops can be stored to the TRIO+'s Micro SD Card (included). Need to create more songs? No problem. Just insert a new SD Card and you're ready to start teaching the band your new songs. To manage all your songs and loops on a computer, download the free Librarian Manager software from digitech.com, available for Windows and Mac.

The TRIO+ offers independent Tempo, Genre, Style, Loop Level, Bass Level, Drums Level, Headphone Output Level controls; Guitar, FX Return and Control Inputs;Amplifier, Mixer, FX Send and Headphone Outputs; Built-in Guitar Effects (relative to music genre); a Soft Click Footswitch and includes a 9V DC adapter.

Loved it while it worked but now, although, entire unit appears to be functioning fine, newly recorded loops not playing at any of the outputs (headphone, amp out, mixer out). Warranty long expired of course. A Tech repairs tell me issue described would be due to faulty circuit board that would require replacement. Cost of unit plus FS3X footswitch = over $500 brick. Any current owners who want the footswitch at a reduced cost, hmu by email

I actually bought this a couple years back, played with it a little bit but never really got into learning all the options and then it sat on the shelf for months and years... Recent COVID lockdowns had me pulling it down and actually going through the manual, and this thing is an amazing practice tool. Lay down a simple chord progression / groove, select a genre and style of music and you can practicing lead and rhythmic elements to your heart's content – it doesn't get bored like the band ;). Only been playing with it again the past two weeks but can already see improvements in my lead playing. I don't think I've seen another pedal that does what this one does, so it really seems to be in a league of it's own. You could do Band in a box software, but that requires you program in the chords and stuff ahead of time, so is a lot more work, whereas this is very spur of the moment. Only sad part is lack of support, apparently the Digitech parent company got bought out by Harmon, and the whole Digitech department was axed :(. It's too bad as this is a very innovative product and it would have been fascinating to see what a 3rd generation model would have been capable of.

Have owned this pedal for 2 years with no problems. It’s great on stage for solo performances and for working in the studio. It’s also easy to use with the download software. I usually record my cover songs on a SD card for live gigs leaving 11 &12 empty to be used at my leisure. It is easy to switch the SD cards during sets without shutting it off. But also recommend getting a FS3X foot pedal so that you can put theTrio Plus up on a stand to be able to select the song on the SD Card during performances.

Purchased this about 1 1/2 year ago. A great little unit, but it's very finicky! You cannot just start chugging and expect the unit to follow...It needs a clean guitar signal with straight chords but once you figure it out this thing rocks! If your a hide in your room type of player and needs accompanied drums and bass you won't be disappointed. It sure takes the boredom out of playing alone. Lot's of cool features. Definitely, for the aspiring guitarist with no band...this will fill that void...

I bought this Digitech Trio+ about a month ago after losing my bass player in my acoustic/vocal bass duo. While this pedal has some limitations (no changes on 1/2 beats) in general it provides solid drums and bass for every song that I play. You need to read the manual carefully to understand how to 'train? the band and you need to think about how to segment your songs into five pieces in order to get the whole song in. I bought two additional 16gb microSD cards and have made three sets of 11-songs each as you can only store 12-songs / card no matter how big they are. I leave slot 12 for messing around. The desktop software allows you to save your songs or microSD cards and move songs between song slots. This unit auto saves every change so pay attention to what you are doing or you will overwrite what you had. It is also very easy to erase a segment if you aren't paying attention. All of this said, I am blown away with what I have been able to do with this pedal and I don't need to have a drummer or bass player unless I want someone to talk to. Sure, it's expensive but this Digitech Trio+ rocks and you won't regret buying it. I don't use the looper much but if you play lead guitar you would love it!

Purchased mine from L&M last week. The drum and bass sounds are great and I love not having to mess around trying to program a DAW with a backing track. Taking a "teaching" attitude to getting the band going will make me a better player. Works at basic level as a looper with lots of functionality to grow.

Easy to use, and good sounds. It's a great practice tool, and with careful creation of tracks, it could also be a working performance tool. All that, and it's a looper too!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
