For me TC is always good quality and many time has too many features. This is no exception. There is no sub for a real bass player but there no fun playing guitar over just guitar in a looper. It does what I needed perfectly. But it is over the top. It can get out of hand pretty quick But it is so much fun to play around and create with. I created a loop with 4 tracks just using this pedal then one with just the guitar. I can't see it as a tone shaping pedal but it gets my creative juices flowing just as well as the perfect tone. So I cannot recommend it enough.

This is a very weak octave pedal. I found that it just turns to mush at higher volumes. The features seem great at first but they're a little underwhelming and the toneprints suck. If you want a good octave pedal get the pog by ehx.

Wanted to use this with guitar to create bass lines for use with my looper. The device is beautiful in appearance and build quality. The tracking is very good, and the Up Output sounds decent. Sadly, the tone of the Sub Output, which is my main interest, is very muffled, thin and indistinct. It sounds like someone playing far away, as if you are hearing them thru a wall. I tried to use an EQ to boost the harmonics, but there don't seem to be any to boost. It does sound a bit better when blended with Dry guitar signal, but that's not how I wanted to use it. Also experimented with the Tone Print app, but nothing really helps. A bit ironic for a company that makes such a fuss about "Tone".

pedal can be molded into any kind of octave you want. the distortion feature isn't what I was looking for myself but for bass its probably the cleanest best tracking octave pedal I have used and you don't have to get that synth pog sound if you don't want it

Not every pedal is for everybody--but this one is for me. I tried out a number of different Octave pedals over time, and some were good on some guitars & not on others, or not on basses, etc. So when I tried the Sub N Up and it worked on both guitar & bass as well as high & low pitches I was interested. Even without the Tone Print I like this pedal being able to use an older style octaver that is more monophonic & a newer style polyphonic one. Even with just single notes they sound different. The Tone Prints open so many more options and help in using this with guitar, bass & mandolin, as well as different types of music. You can get other effects mixed with the octave sounds-flanging, keyboard, synth, fuzz, and more. It's very versatile, tracks well, sounds great. I've had it for a few months so there's been time for the newness to wear off, but it hasn't yet.

I was recently on the market for an octave generator. My obvious choice in this was the EHX pog. I watched all the videos on youtube but was quickly turned off when I heard the way it sounded when chords were played. As if by some form of divine intervention I came across a video on TC electronics' Facebook page. It was exactly what I wanted/needed. This led me to my nearest L&M (hamilton), I saw they only had 1 so I asked to test it out. It was what I wanted and more. The synth like single note sounds of a POG and the 12 string style effect with chords. The ability to punch in up to 2 octaves below your pitch is brilliant. The only thing I wish it had was a range adjuster like the Oc-3, but I could buy both of the pedals for the price of a POG ( POG2 etc). Great value, unprecedented quality and support. The soft switch is a huge plus, but it comes standard with all the new TC pedals. Love it!!
