The MESA EL-84 / 6BQ5 is the little brother to the EL-34 and is the classic European-designed tube that lead the original British invasion. Mesa Boogie's EL-84 offers tight and punchy bass, smooth and warm midrange, and an amazing chiming upper-mid and sparkling top end that is always inspiring to play! Brilliant focus with a frequency response that always brings your guitar to the front of the mix, this EL-84 is true to its classic roots.

MESA power tubes are among the highest quality available and selected for their exceptional full-range tonal quality, consistency and reliability. All MESA tubes offer unsurpassed consistency and reliability for ANY tube amplifier, and certainly MESA amplifiers!

My class A Mesa amp uses four El 84 tubes, always bought Mesa tubes , they put out good power but too many mechanical noise issues, they cannot handle medium level clean sound, speaker is too close to tubes. My fault buying a combo amp, should have bought a solid state amp and saved lots of money.

My AC10C1 developed a rattle at lower frequencies, advice was to replace power tubes. So .... popped in a Mesa pair of EL84's (easy to do) and my VOX has never sounded so good. Rattle gone and tone is superb. Definite upgrade from factory tubes. Should have replaced Preamp tubes at same time to save a trip
