Nice sounding shaker, warmer softer sound. If you want an aggressive "crackly" shaker sound this isn't it. Nice for Bossa and jazz in my opinion.

This is a decent sounding shaker but if you're using them with students I would look for something a little more durable. I've had three sets of mine split into two parts, spilling the metal filings all over the floor! These shakers were not mishandled and fell apart after only a day or two of normal use.
