Acoustic Master Series Characteristics:
Effective simplicity and precise reproduction are two of the design criteria Yorkville Sound set for this new line of Traynor Acoustic Master amplifiers. Acoustic-electric guitarists and others will be pleased at the "neutral" response available with minimal control adjustments. Active filtering circuits allow effective tonal shaping with fewer knobs and switches so you get the sound you want quickly and easily.

Inside the Canadian-made AM series, high-grade glass epoxy circuit boards, low-noise metal film resistors and phone jacks with gold plated contacts ensure quiet, reliable performance onstage or in-studio. Outside you will find heavy-gauge, curved metal speaker grilles, rugged plywood construction and distinctive Buggy Whip leatherette covering.

AM Standard - General
The AM Standard is a true stereo amplifier/monitor with 150 continuous Watts available, 75 Watts a side, to drive its dual, internal, two-way, studio-grade speaker systems. To ensure accuracy, channel EQ controls provide an easy-to-find neutral setting with ample +/-15dB EQ available for precise adjustments thereafter. Channel One adds a frequency-tunable Notch filter control to help you screen out acoustic feedback and both Channel One and Channel Two provide independent sets of controls for the onboard digital effects systems. They also provide CLIP LEDs to help you set the Gain controls optimally and Channel Two provides Phantom Power for a condenser microphone that does not affect dynamic mics or line-level inputs should you opt for either of them.

External effects can be connected via In/Out Effects patch jacks with a Mono/Stereo selector and either internal or external effects can be Footswitched in or out. Patching the AM Standard to a PA or recording desk is also made simple thanks to a choice of a pre-Effects XLR Line Out, or L&R post-effects 1/4-inch TRS Line Outs. The back panel additionally features L&R Aux RCA Inputs for the addition of recorded music.

Bought this amp a few weeks ago. Been using it for vocals, acoustic guitar, acoustic violin, electric violin and mic’d up flute. Sound is so natural, at lower volumes you have to put effects on to tell it’s coming through the amp!

I've owned one for four years. The last year and a half in lived in my studio, but before that I gigged steady and will be doing so again. Tried a few different acoustic guitar amps and wasn't impressed. The Traynor has been impeccable. Loved it right away. My electronics tech endorsed the Traynor / Yorkville gear. It has been an awesome work horse on the big stages or small this amp is well worth the money.

Bought amp used from L&M for use in in a trio - two guitars and upright bass. Amp works great for acoustic / electric Martin and SM-58 microphone. I wanted to be able to control effects separately for guitar and voice. It's somewhat physically larger but not significantly heavier than some other popular 2 channel amps but very manageable in size and weight. This amp delivers what it promises.

Compared with others before purchasing and was head and shoulders above other amps. Solid build, lightweight, great feature set, versatile and very rich sounding. Plus it's Canadian! Doubles as a grab-n-go PA system. If Traynor is listening: less funky (more usable) FX, USB and/or 1/8" jack for ipods, stand mount socket and a cover.

Ordered it online as it ships for free. I would have been fine buying the scratch and dent in store but they charge full price out of the box on the floor so I thought get it damage free online. It arrived scuffed on the corner protectors as it only ships in a cardboard box. Will see if they send the replacement part or exchange it. The sound is great. Overall shipping practices need improvement on behalf of Yorkville.

Full rich sound. Sounds amazing compared to the tinny small amps and better than any similar priced units for both instruments and voice. It has effects with separate effects for channel 2 so its great for guitar + voice. Light but has 2 speakers and plenty of power. Nice vintage look. I like the tilt back cabinet - it is always in tilt mode. DI out. Effects loop. Made in Canada with a very good warrantee. Great value.

I decided to go out and test drive a few acoustic amps after a friend of mine bought a Traynor Acoustic Master Standard. I checked out the Fender and Fishman units, but found them to be too 'bright', and not possessing the adjustability I wanted. I like the fact that the amp has both 1/4" and XLR inputs (cuts down on lugging the PA), and the lightness of the unit is another great feature. As my last acoustic amp was a Marshall AS100D, I can appreciate an amplifier which doesn't weigh a ton!!! It was more expensive than the other amps in the store, but for a domestically built amp with all these features, I think it is good value for the money.

I searched the net for weeks with, many features in mind: dedicated effects (even if only reverb) for each channel, DI out with XLR or 1/4", stereo, weight (only 27 lbs!) looks of course, place of manufacture and so on. I was not sold on this amp until sitting with it for a while and working it. The effects are great, no cheese here in my opinion. Will I use them all... most likely not but there are many I will. Could be improved if it accepted a stomp pedal to change between effects but there are many who would probably not buy an acoustic amp with such a blight! I like carrying as little as possible (ie: the fewere pedals and outboard effects the better)... just me! So... very impressed with the front and rear panel of this amp, the build quality, the tone is great, the stereo voicing is very effective and check out the manufacturers warranty! Barring acts of God they will fix it for the first two years, pretty amazing, and there's nothing like helping out our North American manufacturers I say! It may seem a little pricy but set it beside a Fishman or an SR and you'll see quickly why the Traynor is worthy of taking home. Great bang for the buck!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
