Designed to fuel speedy footwork, TAMA's precision-engineered Speed Cobra pedal now enters a new era. The credo under which it was first forged: "Extreme Velocity. Serious Power," has been honed to add yet another playing characteristic to its already daunting personality - Unprecedented Velocity, delivered with minimum work.

New Features:

• Accu-Strike Cobra Beater utilizes a soft rubber beater head for a more focused, punchier sound and sonic cut.
• Swivel Spring Tight enables the spring tension post to swivel, allowing freer spring movement and a much smoother feel.
• Super Stabilizer Design wider baseplate and frame design for increased stability.
• Hinge Guard Block New separate 3-piece hinge construction for greater durability.
• Para Clamp II Pro features rubber to firmly attach the pedal to the hoop and also prevents scratching.

Other Features:

• Long Footboard
• Speedo-Ring
• Quick-Hook
• Cobra Coil
• Recessed Setting
• Oiles Bearing
• Vari-Pitch Beater Holder
• Hardshell Carrying Case

I'm not a big Tama fan but I do believe this is one of the best pedals on the market. I've had pearl eliminator, pearl demon drive , Tama iron cobra power glide, axis A series, axis X series, DW 5000 series, Yamaha 9500 series direct drive. I think the cobra coil under the foot board is counter productive , The speedo ring and spring pivot at the other end of the spring is great. The new beater looks weird but works really well. The recessed long footboard really takes less energy.
