Supercharged with a plethora of flexible features, the Bassbreaker 15 is a top-notch performer for stage or studio. This chameleon-like amp creates its magic with a trio of 12AX7 preamp tubes feeding into two EL84 power tubes for 15 watts of tight, modern tone. this thing rocks, the green ones have a Celestial Greenback speaker, which I think helps out.

Great sounding amp. The mid gain setting is so versatile. My only complaint is the lack of a foot pedal to change between gain presets.

Bought it just over 2 years ago last month start getting issues with the reverb background noise. It being out of warranty tried to get it service no fender Qualified service centre nearby. Found someone to repair it locally, he assessed it and said he would not touch it. Plan and simple not built to be services would have cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. No reverb being used. Reason I gave it any kind of rating is it does work. Find something that’s repairable.

Like another reviewer here, I had a Vox AC10 and a Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18. While both of those amps sounded ok, I didn't really feel like I bonded with the sound of either so I traded both to get the Fender Bassbreaker. Some of the features I enjoy: effects loop, XLR out, mute switch, three gain stages, treble-mid-bass EQ. The one I got was a limited edition green Bassbreaker with a Celestion Greenback speaker, which gave a really warm, creamy OD sound. The staff at L&M Vancouver were extremely helpful as always!

I absolutely love this machine!! It goes from Cream to Scream at the flick of switch!!! Lack of a Foot pedal channel switching feature would be my only complaint. I wanted a smaller practice amp for my living room and this is perfect. I was flip flopping between this and the Blues Jr, and the great staff at L&M in Guelph talked me into this and i am so glad they did. Great sound, even at low volume, courtesy of a true master volume!! Go get one!! You won't be disappointed!!!

This amp is just killer! I was in need of a small amp for clubs and I went to the Vox AC10. The AC10 is great but it's just not enough. Without the effects loop, no high gain, and only being 10 watts it became very limited. When I heard about the Bassbreaker 15 I went straight to L&M tried it out and within' 15 minutes I bought it and traded in the Vox. This amp delivers anything any guitars will ever need. Great cleans, great crunch, great high gain, very versatile EQ, more than enough volume, a great built in reverb, an effects loop, a direct out with cab simulation, and an external speaker out. Such a versatile amp in such a small package. Go try one out!!

Perhaps the best Fender amp in a long time. I have played through many; Princeton, Twin Reverb, Blues Jr, Blues Deluxe, and Bassman. If a Marshall plexi and a Fender twin had a love child this amp might be the result. The controls are well thought out and actually work at low volumes. It is however loud enough to play club gigs and anything bigger mic'd. The low gain setting is rather tame and muted but the mid is pure bluesy/rock perfect. The gain control allows the player to dial in the amount a dirt you want to perfection. The digital reverb is no match for a Princeton reverb but still high end unless you are looking for "Wipe Out" type sound. Takes pedals flawlessly. Thanks Mexico and the amp genius who engineered this one.

First off it really is a great sounding amp, on that side of things I had zero complaints. When I first used the amp it had a pretty noticeable mechanical hum to it. Not a 60 cycle thing but the amp itself with nothing plugged in hums loud enough to wonder if it's normal or if you got a bad one. The FX loop is a really the deal breaker or the bassbreaker though. Mine had to be sent back for repairs to shield the FX loop from the transformer, it was almost even level noise to signal before the repair. After getting it back the noise was well down but it would appear that the FX loop itself is after the master volume in the circuit, so your effects kick in at full throttle no matter what volume your amp is set at. If you can deal with some mechanical hum and never plan to use the effects loop it's really a very good sounding amp, I wish I could have made it work for me. As for Long and McQuade they made bringing the amp back in (repair and return) a 100% no hassle thing. Great store to deal with who stand behind their guarantees, would buy my eventual replacement for this amp from them with zero concerns.

Well I traded up from the bass-breaker 007 as I really wanted reverb and more headroom and thought that even if I wasn't stoked about the on-board reverb the affects loop would provide me with some options. Well here's the problem the affects loop didn't work came with a loud buzz that made it useless. Took it in for a repair and came back a little better but only seemed to work with one of my pedals. Was going to keep it but began to notice the amp had a rather annoying hum at all volumes. Enough I didn't like to get rid of it. I would say that overall the bass-breaker 007 was the better sounding amp but that just me.

This little beast goes from blackface clean to insane overdrive with a really simple (and easy to use) control set. The interaction between the Gain, Structure and Master controls provides a wide variety of sounds. While I'll never use the higher overdrive settings, even those don't sound like a cheap fuzz tone (which a lot of amps do).

This is the first Fender I've played that sounds great with gain at low & high volumes. Throw a humbucker into it and be in awe of the rich harmonic overtones & sweetness of the tone. I've plugged into amps worth twice the price that do not sound as nice. The hall reverb is wonderful for low gain, highly inspiring ambient sounds yet can be set as subtle as needed. The 3 gain stages switch have a natural progression in terms of gain but the volume jumps may require adjustments especially with higher volume levels. That & the fact that the gain switch isn't footswitchable (yet) are the only minute knocks against this amazing combo. This is one of the best Fender amps ever made & is the standout of the Bassbreaker series.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
