Mixer the Magnificent
The DDM4000 is BEHRINGERs state-of-the-art 32-bit digital DJ mixer. Sometimes even we cant believe the amount of features weve crammed into this thing. Read on.

Choose Your Channel
The DDM4000 struts 5 independent channels. Channels 1-4 are crossfader-assignable stereo channels, suitable for both vinyl and CD decks, and have appropriate phono/line level toggle switches at the input. All channels feature 3-band digital EQs with up to 12 dB of boost and infinite cut option, or kill. Any channel can be monitored directly via headphones thanks to the PFL switch above the fader.

A dedicated Mic channel is provided in mono, with 2 XLR mic inputs. The vocal channel features a special talk feature that attenuates the volume of the other 4 channels, ensuring you will be heard over the music. The Mic channel also has its own FX section that can be applied with a single button.

Cross My Heart
The core functionality of any DJ mixer lays in its crossfader. The DDM4000s crossfader can be assigned to any of channels 1-4, and sports a 3-band EQ kill button on either side. The curve sensitivity of the crossfader is adjustable, and in the unlikely event that you wear it out, the crossfader itself is replaceable.
Step Up Your Samplin
The DDM4000s BPM-synced sampler is a sought-after addition. The sampler allows you to record a segment of incoming audio and loop it continuously without dropping the beat. Once your track is looping from the sampler, you can swap discs and queue up new tracks and mix them back in. The transition is seamless!

Effects
The DDM4000 features a stunning dual FX section that includes our patented BPM counting technology. This allows the mixer to read/display the BPM of 2 different inputs and to apply BPM-synchronized effects, such as an echo synced to the beat of the music. Effects such as bitcrusher, reverb, delay, pitch shift, and more are available, and can be assigned independently to multiple channels.

The DDM4000 is ideal for a club owner who has multiple working DJs performing on a recurring basis. User preferences like fader curve, FX settings, EQ, kill frequencies, etc., can all be set to various user accounts and recalled instantly. This feature can eliminate setup time between DJs altogether!

Swimming Upstream
When you combine the DDM4000s digital operation with MIDI functionality, the door to creative applications opens REALLY wide. For example, the mixer can be used as a MIDI controller for your favorite DJ softwareor whatever else you like! Channel faders, EQ knobs, and button presses can all be configured to send customized MIDI data. The possibilities here are quite endless.

Ive owned this mixer since about a year after they came out. Over time the sound quality degrades, pops and clicks while turning knobs, faders get finicky as dust gets in over time, optical faders. Recently my motherboard died and the mixer will no longer turn on. Just flashes. I will be purchasing a allen & heath or Pioneer. Price for behringer quality products is attractive at first but pay the money for the quality in the long run.

Product Experience   I've tried it

I've seen and tried the DJM-900, and I know that its what all the Pro's use. But Berhinger has gone over and above with this mixer. It will give you all the features of the latest Pioneer mixers, dare I say even better with its amazing sampling ability, and effect editors! I don't know why people bother paying over $1000.00 for the new Pioneer mixers when they can get basically the same thing for $500.00! I recommend this for anyone, honestly anyone. It withstands rigorous club use and use on the road! Don't think that this mixer will confine you to being a basic bedroom DJ, because it is perfectly capable of being use in front of large crowds, while keeping its reliability. How can I be sure? I watched it being used all around Ibiza by world famous DJ's infront of crowds of 10,000 people, but most of those DJ's have moved to Pioneer simply because when DJM 800-900 came out a few years later, everyone always says, "newer is apparently better". A few gold plated ports instead of silver, a "nice shiny surface". Berhinger hasn't bothered to keep up making multiple versions and upgrades to their DJ tabletop mixers, and because Pioneer has done just that, they have become "industry standard". Because they achieved that title, they can increase the prices of their mixers immensely, because everyone now think that "oh pioneer is just the best, quality and everything". That's crap! There are way too many haters saying bad stuff about Behringer just because it isn't as popular as Pioneer. They may have only released ONE GOOD mixer of this type, because they have had failures with previous DJ mixers, but its GREAT! Ex. You see a nice polyester shirt for $10, you then proceed to see exact the same shirt with a Hollister logo for $60..... its still a nice shirt. Who cares if it doesn't have the logo on it. Get my Drift? Cons? Maybe a better placed headphone jack, but I couldn't care less! I just run it straight to the side of the mixer and down the edge. Also since it is a few years old, it doesn't have the newer usb 2 midi port on the back, to connect to your computer, but there are cables that can solve that. This review is probably way too long, but I hope that all who read this can understand my view on this, and the Pioneer mixers aren't necessary unless your Arty, or Tiesto, DJ Shiftee or Craze, and can buy whatever the hell you want.

Purchased the DDM4000 about 2 years ago and so far its been great. Yes, I am sure there are stories to stay away from Behringer but you know what there is not a single bad thing i have to say about this mixer for this price. You have a full range of effects that sound pretty darn good! Filters are are nice crisp but obviously not as great as the Pioneer line up. Although better then anything Digital aka Serato, Traktor ect. Overall sound is amazing no complains. Layout of all the buttons works out very well, everything is where it should be. The headphone jack could have been in a better location but no stress. Ive abused the crap out of it and so far one Up fader knob came lose which superglue did a fine job in fixing. The EQ knobs are still good with tention. If this is your first mixer GO OUT AND BUY IT! You will be very satisfied :)
