As part of John M. Feierabend's continuing effort to preserve our rich heritage of children's folksongs, GIA Publications, Inc. is pleased to expand its series of picture books based on these timeless songs and stories.

Risseldy, Rosseldy, also known as Nickety Nackety or I Married My Wife in the Month of June, is a great American nonsense song with a real tongue-twister for the chorus.

Full of humour and glorious illustrations, this delightful songtale is certain to enthral today's children, part of John M. Feierabend's dream of bringing our classic songtales to vivid life.

Ashley Poulin's dazzling illustrations capture the life and humour of this song, pulling the reader into the fantastic world of newly-weds, both human and chipmunk!

The song may be downloaded in audio form for free, courtesy of GIA Publications (see demo). The fully notated version of the song with all of the words is included at the end of the book, along with a detailed history of this beloved songtale.

A hilarious take on a timeless story, this picture book will become a favourite of today's children, another wonderful chapter in the continuing legacy of a delightful, classic songtale.

John M. Feierabend has spent decades compiling songs and rhymes from the memories of the American people in the hopes that these treasures will be preserved for future generations. Dr. Feierabend is a national leader in the field of early childhood education and currently serves as a professor and chair of the Music Education Department at The Hartt School of the University of Hartford in Connecticut.

Ashley Poulin is from Marlboro, New York. She is a recent graduate of the Hartford Art School in Connecticut, where she studied illustration and art history. As a child, Risseldy, Rosseldy was one of her favourite songs to sing. This is her first book.
