Pearl Demon Drive Double Pedal
2 models to choose from:
The Eliminator Demon Drive bass drum pedal was engineered to create the most seamless link between the player's musical ideas and his or her execution on a bass drum. Whether seeking to deliver lightning-fast blast beats or deep, rock-solid grooves, this Pearl drum pedal offers the adjustability to maximize your playing in any style.
Play a Pearl Demon Drive and the first thing you'll notice is its smoothness. The Demon Drive gets its incredible smoothness and speed through the use of ultra-precise hardware components. Self-aligning spherical bearings are used to insure the footboard and the Direct link drive are always in perfect alignment. Its zero-latency Z-Link Drive Shaft's U-Joints, and special super high-speed NiNjA bearings on the axles all work in perfect sync to create one of the smoothest and fastest pedals on the planet.
The most unique feature of the Demon Drive drum pedal is Pearl's exclusive Duo-Deck, the world's first convertible footboard. With a simple adjustment, the Demon Drive pedal can be adjusted from a traditional shortboard to a longboard pedal in seconds, offering a slightly lighter, quicker feel that is the preferred setup when speed is a necessity.
This bass pedal includes the world's first two-position Beater Stroke Adjustment and two-position Direct Link Adjustment. Both allow the player to create a slightly lighter or heavier feel of the pedal depending on their preferred setting. Adjusting the Duo-Deck in combination with the Beater Holder and Direct Link Adjustments yields 8 possible pedal configurations, allowing the player to truly create their ideal feel.
The Click Lock spring tension system prevents the tension knob from loosening. The Traction Plate, which has aluminum traction dots, is fully adjustable for the amount of slip or grip you want . Its footboard height-adjustment capability enables you to loosen and rotate the footboard to the desired height. And finally, the Pearl pedal comes standard with a Carrying Case to protect it from the wear and tear of travel.

I inherited this pedal with a set of drums I purchased a few years ago. It's well engineered, responsive, and nice to look at). Comes with a nice soft carrying box, and the spare drum key is a useful addon. Often cheaper double kicks will develop an imbalance in the throw, but after years of use the beater heads are still perfectly in line and symmetrical.
I wore the felt head down on the right side and the replacement was a stiff fifty-something bucks, but for the usage it was getting, this is acceptable wear.
Only downside, as mentioned in other reviews, is that it will tend to slide a bit without anchors, but if your set up is done properly it shouldn't be an issue. (caveat: i'm a studio drummer and rarely gig out so I haven't tested this in live environments, ie: on some slippery bar stage)

Amazingly smooth, feels great. The only thing is the slave pedal needs to have spikes added to prevent it from slipping. Cost of the spikes are $6, probably if you know that you can get them thrown in at no additional cost. Slave comes with optional velcro but might not be enough on a well used carpet. I would definitely buy this again, but based on the quality it will probably last a life time.
Set up options seem endless. From a light feel to heavy. Direct drive is powerful.

Great all round pedal. Won't break down. Although an awesome pedal. It is over priced. Buy it if it's in your budget.
