A unique Fender bass loaded with premium features. The Deluxe PJ Bass has a Precision Bass body with the neck of a 70's Jazz Bass. It features the appointments you've come to love on a classic Fender instrument like an alder body, maple fingerboard and a Fender high mass bass bridge.
The most interesting feature is the combination of Precision and Jazz Bass pickups. With this combo you get the best of both worlds. The growl of the Jazz Bass bridge pickup blends perfectly with the split single coil neck pickup from a Precision Bass.

Picked up this Bass today and within a few minutes I dialed in my desired tone. The Jazz 'J' neck is a perfect fit and feel for me. I didn't care for the sunburst finish at first but after an hour I guess it's growing on me, especially since the playability is so good. I would recomend this awesome bass to everyone!!

Sorry Fender I really am a player of Fender guitars for over 40 years..I am a Fender Freak!! Anyway I picked up the FSR and within 30 seconds I found a tone I love!!! Bass simply sounds and feels amazing!! for less than half the price!! Definitely recommend this bass!!

I have this bass and a Fender jazz bass. The jazz bass is American so the quality is a little bit more upscale but this unit is terrific and the playability is all that I could hope for. I would recommend this bass to anyone sell learning or for Band work.

This bass exceeded my expectations. No doubt. I would say it compares easily with some American models. But it has an unmatched added value: the Precision-Jazz design and features. I have never been a big fan of the P-Bass fat neck but a huge fan of its sound. This bass combines the best of both words. You have a P-Bass with an elegant J-Neck. The touch is unbelievable. Then you have the split coil precision pick-up with an added jazz pick-up. It's still a P-Bass, not a J-Bass, but the extra J-Tone gives it an awesome edge that blends perfectly. This is the perfect bass for me and I just want to keep it forever.

I got one these recently. Im very very impressed. It sounds amazing. Plays REALLY well. The jazz pickup doesnt have nearly the same output as the Precision pickup. But it still rounds out the tone nicely.
I wish it came in other finishes though. Sunburst doesnt do it for me. But the bass is so good im overlooking the finish.

There's really nothing bad I can say about this bass. Great value. My American P bass has barely been out of its case since I bought this one almost a year ago. Plays and sounds fantastic!

I have a handi-Capped Fretboard hand so neck profile is a huge deal,
I picked up the Fender Precision Bass Special not expecting to much.
Boy was I Surprised in my 35+ years of playing all sorts of Basses I've never had one that was the Full package like this Bass.
Beautiful Gloss Finish, excellently joined 2Sunburst 2 piece body.
Good fret work.
The Tuxedo neck is Gorgeous fast too.
The Pickups are Excellent
That Noiseless Jazz Pickup is Punchy when you lean into it,it Growls with the Best of them.
The P Pickup is so full and deep the combination of the Two Passive Pickups is a match made in Heaven.
The Fender High Mass Bridge is Awesome helps with the Punch as well as transmitting full tone of a Gentle pluck,Intonates well the finish is top flight.
If you see one in your Local L&M Store I encourage you to try a Fender Precision Bass Special you might just be surprised too.

I am a fan of the classics just as much as I am with modern, contemporary guitars. What I love even more is when both are brought together to create something new and different. When I started playing bass, I eventually wanted a '57 style P Bass with the anodized pickguard, pull bar, ash trays, etc. But as I continued learning, I also clued into things that I preferred: Thinner necks, a chunkier bridge for more sustain, and most of all: something visually striking.
Once I found this bass, I knew it was the one. Out of the box, it was fantastic, with few issues which are detailed below. None of them were or are deal breakers, and, with a few modifications like a custom brushed gold pickguard an a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder P Pickup, I had created my perfect bass; one that has the history of Fender represented in it. The classic P body from the dawn of the electric Bass; the 70's Jazz Neck that oozes both playability and unmatched style with its tuxedo binding and block inlays; modern pickups and hardware for the contemporary age. It has booming lows and can dial in cutting highs. I use it for distorted punk and mellow jazz. It's incredibly versatile and plays like a dream.
Cons:
- The stock nut wasn't cut properly, causing the A string to pop out on occasion.
- Wood grain on the one I bought has deep lines, almost like cracks along it. I am fine with a more worn look but not everyone would be.
- Stock tuners have a slight give before they actually start turning
Despite these issues, this is possibly my favorite instrument that I have owned. If I ever get lucky enough to one day have a signature Fender bass, I'll simply point to this and say "make it again".

Love this bass! I started life way back on a jazz bass and the love all things 70's. So naturally the 70's jazz neck was a huge selling feature to me. I can not get over the tonal versatility of this bass, go from fat old school p bass to tight punchy slap and funk tones like a jazz bass. The fat punch that the split coil adds to the bridge pickup is awesome, not like a standard jazz bass.. so much Phatter!! I play everything from Motown to hard rock and this thing covers it all. It has quickly become my number one, haven't played any of my other basses since I brought this one home a year ago. I've added a hipshot drop D tuner and leave the 5 string at home now too :D

I buy and sell basses more than what is probably healthy, usually weird stuff. I had been in "simplify and sell" mode and just accompanying a friend who wanted to look at guitars that day. This baby caught my eye and when i saw it was a pbass with a geddy jazz neck i knew already that it woupd feel great. Then i plugged it in. Tone for days, and all very usable. I love everything about this bass and it has become my no.1. Luckily i grabbed it just before fender's prices went up for like $849.00, but i would still spend the current price for this again if i lost mine. It's well made, sounds/looks/feels great and is crazy versatile while not losing any of that pbass punch. It is perfection!

Renting an Epiphone Thunderbird after using a very used Fender Squire and the difference is nice.
But I tried the Fender FSR Deluxe Precision and....it's like driving a Kia hatchback with cloth seats then driving a top of the line Hyundai Santa Fe....wow...just.....wow.
It was simply sublime to play.
It WILL be my next bass before year's end (2016)
Merry Christmas to ME!

This bass is just right if you want a great value P-Bass that plays great and has the tone to match. The jazz neck makes it smooth and comfortable to play. I love that it's passive cause it has a usable tone no matter where the knobs are set. Pickups are great, neck is great, nice tuners, high mass bridge, fret ends leveled. I can get past the three piece body and no case. It's worth every penny you spend on it. It is on par with the Deluxe Active P-Bass Special tone wise, they feel almost the same but the Deluxe is heavier and feels more solid. I've owned both and it really comes down to active vs passive. They both have great tuning stability. I will change the pickguard at some point just for aesthetic purposes. Overall this is a great bass that bridges the gap between a mexi standard and a US model

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
Great Additions
