Amazing tone in a tiny package.
amPlug is a headphone guitar amp that can fit in the palm of your hand. Just plug it into your guitar, put on your headphones, and start enjoying serious guitar tones with amazing presence. You can choose from three types of sound. There's the aptly named "AC30" which gives you the top boost sound of a vintage Vox AC30. "Classic Rock", which delivers the classic, high gain sound of a UK-manufactured 100W amp and "Metal" which produces the aggressively powerful metal sound of a US-made amp. With these three different amPlug products to choose from, you can start enjoying whatever guitar sound suits your mood for the day.

Analog circuitry, tube tone.
amPlug simulates the circuitry of a vacuum tube amp completely in analog. The result is superior headphone amp tone for players who are particular about their sound. Vox was sure to take great care with amPlug's gain circuitry. The "AC30" amPlug uses two, natural-sounding gain stages to reproduce the distinctive AC30 tone. The "Classic Rock" model ampPlug uses four classical gain circuits to deliver that great sound. The "Metal" amPlug uses two stages of ultra-high gain plus a mid-cut circuit, giving you modern metal, high-gain sound anywhere and anytime. Even the circuit response of the original amp is simulated completely. The simulation extends not only to the response of the tone circuits, but also to the way in which the high frequency and gain are affected when you turn down the volume control of the guitar. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced.

I bought this for jamming, after I got my Apogee for recording. I was considering a mini amp, but the guy at L&M said their sound wasn't great. A nice addition to my kit. I'm a Vox player, so it was nice to hear it delivered as advertised on tone. A great, quick late night practice tool, small, but it packs a crunch, it takes seconds to set up, then I'm jamming, while the Fam sleeps lol. If you have the $'s kicking around, it's worth the investment. G

I was running into some issues playing on my Blues Junior III at home, and wanted something a little more compact for practicing at home or out and about. I took a few hours and tried the AC30 - Twin - Classic amplugs in the acoustic room at L&M East. I found that the AC30 definitely gave me more performance than the other two, with a more distinct range. It comes with a small simple gain/tone/volume control set, and it performs like a dream. it had a nice clear clean sound, and cranked right up had a nice hard crunch to it. I was using Presonus HD7 Monitor headphones and was definitely impressed. Since getting it home I've also run it at the end of a few pedals, and it still manages to deliver a clear distinct quality sound to the headphones. It'd be nice to have an AC plug option, but for the cost I'm content with what I got. The aux plug for backing tracks comes in pretty clean, but when the gain is cranked up it's overpowered quite easily. All in all, definitely a great little tool to keep around for when the windows don't need to rattle.

It sounds alright but it's cheaply made. The input gave out in under month. I returned the first one because the led light didn't work. If they made a deluxe one with nicer material I would buy it... Wouldn't buy this again though.

I love this little guy. When ever I feel the need to jam but can't because I have to be quiet the AC-30 Amplug comes to the rescue. It only has gain volume and tone but you can get quite a lot of different sounds out it. It sounds awesome with my Telecaster. I recommend this to any one with the sudden itch to practice but still wants to sound great in their head.
