Jay Althouse updated a text by the noted Welsh hymn writer William Williams and set it to original music. The haunting new melody is folk-like in nature - much in the style of an Appalachian folk hymn - and incorporates, both in the accompaniment and the voices, the early American tune "Poor Wayfaring Stranger." There are options for vocal solos and the accompaniment is transparent and accessible.
