For normal everyday use around home and for practice or rehearsal I use Gore nano-webs just because they last so long but for live performance or for recording I always choose these strings. The extra detail and clarity and note definition makes them well worth it. I think they might be a little bit louder too so you might want to try them for circle jams around the fire. Some people claim they lack bottom end. I don't hear that myself. I think they sound fantastic but even if they did lack a tiny bit of low end I would still use them for performance and recording because you can always EQ however you like.

Every string sounds nice & bright except for the Low E string. The low end sound of the Low E string is awful. Sounds way too aluminum. I may keep all the other strings on because i like how they sound & the they are good for bends but I will probably switch to a different Low E string.

i have discovered if i use a thin pick .46 mm while strumming it makes the strings sound better. Not so bad after all.

I have read so many 5 star reviews elsewhere however my assessment is I wish I had purchased my old dean markleys again. I was trying something different on my 46 year old yamaki acoustic with medium light aluminum bronze. Purchased at the poco store. Ok for melody or arpeggios but strumming is almost awful imo. I’m trying my best to try to like these strings. Quite disappointed in them and they hurt your fingers.

First off I am an avid Ernie Ball user for the better part of 18 years in 22 years playing guitar. All my electrics are strung with EB strings. I am also not one for gimmicks but I love trying new things. So when I saw these strings I had a chuckle and had to order them to give them a go and see if they were anything special. Not that I had no faith in Ernie Ball but I had low expectations with these strings assuming they would sound no different or better then the 80/20 or phosphorus I was so wrong! These strings are unbelievably clear sounding, great clean/warm lows with defining mids and the highs are not shrill almost chimey. I seriously think I found the perfect acoustic string (for me) but seriously give them a try. They are far more affordable then some of the ?higher? end acoustic strings and in my opinion they sound 10x better. Finger picking these strings really shine almost majestic......yes majestic!

I bought these cause they were on sale and I was curious about them being a long time Ernie Ball user, 20 years in fact. And to be honest I wasn't expecting much but these strings are the real deal. Very smooth to the touch like all EB strings, so clean sounding almost chimey with nice warm low end and subtle mids. Really livened up my Yamaha CPX700II they stay in tune beautifully and even months later they are still in tune and sound and good as the day I put them on.
