Extremely fragile headphones. Whatever you do, don't drop them. I've had to re-solder connections multiple times on both pairs of these I own. The 26 guage wires that connect to the speakers are short and not well connected.

AKG has left a profound mark in the studio industry since their K240 model came out and their legacy can be heard in the K702's. As a very revealing and detailed headphone, you will hear many small details and nuances. The clarity and sound stage is definitively one of its strongest highlights though it does lack some punch in the bass. Despite their remarkable clarity and attention to detail in sound. It is not as flat sounding as one may expect, in my opinion, upon running a gradual sine sweep, the treble (1.5kHz - 10kHz) had to be brought down. Despite the "bright" treble, its overall capabilities can wow an experienced listener.

These are very natural sounding, but pleasant as well. A great addition or replacement of any monitoring for mixing/mastering.
