After owning several Tube and Modelling amps, I have finally found the perfect Amp! This amp does everything and anything and sounds amazing at the same time.

I finally broke down and bought one. This is the fourth tube amp that I've owned and should have been the only one. Sold my Origin amp, reverb pedal, and harmonic trem pedal to help fund it. First things first. I thought the build quality was first rate and as expected (good fit and finish, no loose knobs or jacks). Next, the amp has a great, usable range of volumes (home practice all the way up deafening). I also like the two inputs because I can plug in my single coil guitars or my Les Paul without changing the settings. The tone is awesome, I set both the bass and treble to 5 for quiet practice, bass at 3 and treble at 6 for louder playing. This amp is also a terrific pedal platform, even at bedroom volumes (even likes dirt pedals like fuzz, distortion, and overdrive). Finally, the reverb and tremolo are great, so good in fact that I sold off my old pedals.

Wow! The cleans on this one are phenomenal! When overdriven, it's still nice but not mind blowing. If you want excellent cleans, go for this one. Great for math-rock tunes like American Football. It takes pedals very well. Especially delay, reverb, modulation. Again overdrive pedals are good as well but not mind blowing. I like the crunch tone of Vox amps more.

Classic Princeton Reverb Amp sound. The 10 inch Jensen is this amp's identity. No need to change the speaker, the stock is perfect. If you need a 12 inch speaker, get the Deluxe Reverb. The original Russian and Chinese tubes sound wonderful as well; they will be replaced only when they burn out. If the speaker starts flubbing out at high volume levels, turn the bass knob to 3 or lower. Input 1 for single coil pickups and input 2 for humbuckers but do as you please. I use the Reverb at 2.5. Anything after 4 is overwhelming. The intensity on 10 for the tremolo is not very intense if you ask me. I used an EHX Soul Food for some dirt at lower volumes (4 or 5) and it sounded so dam natural - Impressed. Being considerate of others in my home, I'm not always able to crank the PRRI to 10 to get that sweet tube overdrive. It's got enough power to gig with...assuming that at larger venues, your PRRI wil be miked up. I prefer this amp to the AC15, which I absolutely loved. The Princeton 65 Reverb Reissue is the real deal.

I love this amp. Basic Volume, Treble, Bass, and tremolo. Extremely clean and clear tones make this my favorite Fender amp. It's loud enough for practice and yet you can play at low volumes also. If you are looking for a lower wattage amp, this is a great piece of gear for sure.

I've got the 'Surf Green & Hot White' model of this amp, but the guts and tone are still the same as the basic/classic black tolex model. You've got that classic Fender tone from the 50's and early 60's, reverb, tremolo (vibrato) and great warm tube tone all rolled up into one in this little 'Tone Monster'. I tend to use it mostly with a Gretsch 6120 for the early Rock n' Roll/Rockabilly type stuff, and a Fender (Squier) Jazzmaster for the early Country/Hillbilly Bop/Surf/Deke Dickerson sounding stuff, and it works great! You can start to get great semi-overdriven sounds after about 5-6 on the volume, and for such a little amp, and a 10" speaker, it is LOUD! Louder than you'd think, easily pulls off small to medium sized gigs, and the reverb goes from bluesy space to full out surf-rock and beyond! You can get a decent natural reverb on about 1-2 on the dial, anything past 4 is really overkill for most playing, but it's that great early natural Fender reverb. The tubes they use are a 5AR4 for the Tremolo, 6V6's for the power and 12AX7's for the drive, and a 12AT7 for the reverb. It's a great little tone-full amp, and if you want that vintage Fender tone in a modern, reliable, affordable amp, this is a great choice. Also great for a good overdriven (Blues/rock) sound for recording, without getting the cops called on you for shaking the windows in your house. This amp is the closest I can get in tone to a early 1960's Fender Bassman, or Victoria/Gretsch style hand wired amp for under $1000. I highly recommend this great little amp!

I have played Fender amps during most of my 40+ years as a guitarist. My first amp was a Fender Super Reverb and most recent was a Deluxe Reverb. I wanted to downsize without losing the Fender Chime and recently found the little Princeton Reissue on Kijiji. What a find!!! It sounds great with my old '69 Tele and great with my new Gretsch 6120. The reverb and tremolo are fantastic producing the old Fender sound guitarists want. If you are a Fender user looking for a great little amp for studio or small gigs look no further. It's worth every penny and more :) Check out this website: http://www.youtube.com/watch'v=gHVG4kDurtY

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
