NYXL1074 is a hybrid 8-string set, combining the high strings from a regular set (.010) with heavier low strings (.074). This combination delivers powerful low end for heavy chording and flexible plain steel strings for bending.

These strings are superior to all I have tried. They stay in tune better and bend better and sound better to me. These strings are brighter so I had to adjust my eq ever so slightly to taste. The only problem is Long and Mc never have these in stock at any locations I have checked. I ran out of new strings adn can't even buy them in a store within 500 miles. I hate shopping online.

These are the best 8 string strings I have tried so far for my RG2228, not too bright or warm, they last long with how I take care of them, and they are durable when it comes to bending and harder playing too. These are worth the price I think. D'addario is still my go to brand for all the strings I use on all my guitars.
