Gator Grip Picks offer superior playing control and a dark, beefy sound. A matte surface allows for a tight, nonslip grip, and a molded, beveled edge provides for a smooth attack and a soft release so you can play with unimpeded intensity and dexterity.

This pick has a great attack combined with fast release. The tone is fantastic: it makes the string sound like it's supposed to. It is suitable for any style from clean jazz, to metal and shred. It is quiet at high gains (but see below). It really seems to be the best pick. Whether you play devastating palm mutes, or bluegrass: your one stop shopping for nonstop chopping. The stock bevel is too rounded, so the release is not as good as it can be, and the matte surface produces noise if you're using high gain distortion. Filing a sharper bevel adds brightness to the tone and improves the quickness of the release. Polishing the edge a bit turns the pick almost noiseless, due to the material. This improves the clarity of hyper-speed riffs. This will happen naturally as it wears, but some of us can't wait. The powder on these picks might work for people with sweaty hands, but for people with dry skin, it makes the grip worse. If you put a bit of buffing compound on both sides and rub it between your fingers, it's gone in a hurry.

With these, I found playing a difficult, fast lead I'd been trying to learn, became doable.
