Question: Could you attach this to a guitar stand? What diameter does it grip on to?

Répondre: It is most convenient with a mic stand with a diameter of 12.7 mm (1/2" ). You could try to attach it to a guitar stand but the real benefit of having it on a mic stand is that it is right at the height where you can reach a pick quickly.

I picked one up a few months back and its VERY useful when i'm practicing, especially with my band. Mine came with a slide holder that you can pretty much hang anything lightweight on.
It grips picks tightly but its easy to take them out
