Like others have mentioned, this is a great stand with a fatal flaw. The plastic formulation used in the height adjuster is faulty, leading to disintegration as the handle turns sticky and gooey. If you value your guitars, check this out and take the necessary steps to replace or repair. The company should refund or replace...you could have very expensive damage if a guitar falls front face first on a hard floor..I have seen a few with broken off head sticks from this!

Had the stand for a few years - then one night the spring loaded height adjustment lever snapped off spontaneously with a bang, as 3 instruments crashed on to a hardwood floor. Similar to previous reviews. Not good.....

I bought 3 of these stands.10 years ago. 2 singles and a double. both single stands The adjustment handles turned sticky and gooey and fell apart with guitars hanging on them! I put a bolt thru the post and the stand still works. but is Very sloppy side to side ...need to dill it out and thread the hole to make it right and tighten it up. the mechanism that holds the head stock of guitar is good and the foam has held up for ten years. if your handle is sticky GET RID OF IT ! DRILL THRU THE PIPE THREAD THE HOLE and REPLACE IT WITH A BOLT ! or your guitar will likely get Damaged if your not quick to grab it when it does break....and it will ! . the double stand is ok no problems but the handle is made from same material so I suspect it will eventually break to ! HERCULES will NOT replace it. They told me to put a bolt in it! they have No replacement Parts! so in my opinion these stands are not worth the high price they are charging. I have 10 dollar guitar stands that have held up better then these high priced stands. SO MUCH FOR LIFETIME WARRANTY! lesson learned. save your money and buy a better quality stand for a lot less. Long Mcquade has lots of good quality stands but the Hercules doesn't stand the test of time. or warranty .

I've had mine for about 5 years now. So far so good. I like the fact that I can hang pretty much anything without worrying about load balancing so it doesn't tip. At the moment, it's sitting behind me with a ukulele and a banjo, but it has held guitars, basses and mandolins as well without issues.

Loved it. Owned it for a few years just sitting in a room. Never adjusted or taken out of house
It broke with 3 guitars sitting on it last night when I attempted to take a guitar off.
I've googled, found a lot of people had the same problem & contacted Hercules who told them they don't sell parts
Cheapest solution is to put a bolt through the shaft.

Stand is totally worth the extra money. I hummed and hawed over whether I thought it was actually worth spending this much on a guitar stand and in the end I'm very glad I did. The quick release holders are great and the stand is built very tough. Also like that it came all assembled in the box. Just pull it out, extend it and use it. Makes it nice to transport as well. All in all I'm very impressed. Would recommend.

Very impressed with this stand. It is sturdy, versatile and holds my electric guitars firmly and safely with the actuated guards. Folds up nicely, easy to store or pack for travel. Provides easy access to 3 guitars with a small footprint. I will get a 2nd one for my acoustics.
