Surprised by the sound and quality of the gain channel. Reverb is ok ,sort of a mix between a plate Reverb and studio Reverb. Absolutely no regrets buying..

Convinced a kid's mom to buy this as he was just starting out playing. He needed something simple with basic clean and dirty channels and the built in tuner is a bonus. It has no effects other than reverb. Impressed enough I bought one myself. When I started playing forty years ago you could never get a practice amp like this.Being a Marshall/Fender guy I was always curious what the "Orange" tone was. However the only way to get it is to get a more expensive and louder tube head or combo. So does the Crush amp being solid state at least come close? As it seems to "model" what Orange amps do its surprisingly close but it does lack clarity that tube amps have. The knobs are very responsive, there is also a surprising amount of bass EQ and the clean channel is surprisingly good. However, the clean is only with volume, and no EQ. Its the dirty channel that is so flexible as it can range from a Plexi like tone to all out raging high gain metal just by turning the gain knob from half to full. The overall tone of both channels is surprisingly warm but the mid knob when turned right down can be very muddy without definition. Yet even at 2 on the dirty volume with the gain about two thirds I am surprised at its volume. It would be a plus to include the optional footswitch, even if its just a cheap plastic one but the switch meant for it is a metal one which is a bit expensive for an amp like this. I was going to try the 35RT but it has all the same controls but with a larger speaker. Will recommend this amp if you are just starting out or just need something small, simple, lightweight for practice. It takes pedals well but there is no effects loop. Not loud enough for a drummer either or paired with much larger amps but it does what you paid for.

I bought this amp a few months ago and have only played it about a dozen times. It has an ok sound (not great) a lot muddier than I was expecting, nowhere near as crisp and clear as my 30W Marshall. It’s been stored in the warmth and in a dry place when not in use and I have never gone hard on it since I bought it. In fact it’s never been played on over 4/10 volume. Then just today I pug it in to play and it completely craps out on me! I tried different patch chords, and two other guitars through it and same result. Needless to say I’m not impressed. For an amp that was bought brand new only a few months ago and has been pretty much babied it’s entire life to crap out like that does not make me want to buy anything else made by Orange. I’m hoping that this was just a one off sort of thing and that I just simply got a lemon, but still I don’t think I’ll ever buy another Orange amp and will be switching back to and sticking with Marshall after this!

This 20 watt solid state amp has a lot of nice features: a built in tuner, reverb, 3 band equalizer, 2 channels, headphone jack, auxiliary input jack, and channel switching via foot switch or toggle switch on the top panel. The clean channel has a volume control, and the dirty channel has a separate volume control. The dirty volume control is used in conjunction with the gain control to give a variety of distortion sounds. A great amp!

I am just starting to learn the guitar, and I've tried a few solid state amps. Too many with too many confusing gadgets on them. A couple guys I work with suggested I try an orange. So I did and bought this amp. It's just what I need as a beginner. Simple easy to use loud has grit. Will last me for years to come.

Love this amp!!!
Don't be discouraged in the beginning if you have difficulty finding tones you like, the distortion definitely has a unique sound and is very sensitive to the guitar tone & volume and amp eq knob placements. (I have found very small turns can make a huge change compared to other amps)
You can kinda make it sound like it has that tube amp pop which is great for rock.
You can get some pretty decent metal tones out of it when you play around with the EQ.
Reverb sounds good
Clean tone also sounds nice, you can get some over drive out of it too.
Neighbors haven't knocked on my door yet

Beauty little practice amp. Running a Boss DS-1X through the clean channel and the sound is fantastic. Dirty channel is heavy duty as well, with much potential for extreme mud. More than enough volume for a 20 by 20 foot room.

I had this Amp for a couple of months before trading it in and purchasing the Fender Bassbreaker 15W combo, but those months were a treasure.
This amp has an incredible tone for a solid state amp with lush clean tones and a dirty channel that surprised me. It has low, mid, & high frequency EQ'ing to dial in your desired tone. The reverb sounds incredible and the built-in tuner is nice for new players as well.
Amp is Orange quality so it is built to last. If you are a beginner guitar player or purchasing for someone learning guitar, do them a favor and buy this amp. They will love you for it.

Have owned this amp for just over a month after purchasing it at L&M in Vancouver. I can't say enough about the great service and patience the staff at L&M had with me. Probably spent at least spent 3 months researching a wide range of similar amps online. My main use for the amp was for practicing at home but also I wanted something portable for limited jamming. I play primarily blues and my only guitar is a strat. I couldn't be happier with the sound and the quality of amp in general.

This was a birthday gift I got recently and it's huge sounding for a solid state amplifier! It sounds like a full valve combo when cranked and has a beautiful clean sparkle. The reverb sounds fantastic and not too overwhelming like some reverbs. Great for home practice and super lightweight.

After watching many YouTube videos / reviews / demos of this amp I decided I was going to buy one. I purchased one from L&M in Calgary and let me tell you - This amp sounds incredible! The videos - no matter how well they were recorded don't compare to the sound of this amp. It sounds like a tube amp. The 3 EQ and gain controls have massive range and you can achieve amazing everything from crisp, clean and punchy tones to super crunchy growl. The cab-sim output sounds so ( insert expletive here ) good. It also sounds great plugging headphone out directly into your DAW. Build quality is top notch, built in EQ is wide and fantastic, and the digital reverb sounds great. No need to mess around with hundreds of digitally simulated amp and cabinet tones like a modelling amp. This amp is super versatile and it is all analog. ( other than the reverb ). It's hard to believe that a solid state amp can sound so good.
I would highly recommend this amp to anyone looking for a great sounding practice / rehearsal amp. Best $280 bucks I have ever spent!

This amp is great. I've had it for half a day and I'm already loving it. The tones are great. With a little distortion and a Blues Driver pedal it's unreal for a 20 watt amp. Definitely doesn't sound digital and it's not all gummed up with effects. It's all in all a great practice amp if you're into using pedals. Totally worth it. Don't shy away from getting one. You'll want to bust out jams all day.

I love this amp, it is a basic solid state amp with no modelling or effects of any kind. It has 1 sound and that is Orange, it does not try to be anything that it is not, just Orange.
The cleans are good but in true Orange fashion it is in the dirt that the amp really shines, when played through my Les Paul it sounds really good, just classic British crunch. If you are looking for a solid state practice amp with no digital modelling, etc you won't be disappointed with this.
I should also say that it is very loud for a solid state 20W amp.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty
A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.
Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.
How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.
Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.
Purchasing additional years of coverage
Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.
If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:
NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
