The Blues Jr. LTD takes Fender's 15W gem and gives it the true vintage treatment with a lacquered tweed covering and a vintage-voiced 12" Jensen speaker. Its golden tones are generated by an all-tube signal path using a pair of EL84 output tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes. Add renowned Fender reverb, flexible controls, FAT switch for mid boost, and you're in business. And just look at that chrome panel, that tweed finish with pinstripe grille cloth, and those vintage pointer knobs!

Q & A

Question: I have this blues junior. It does have an external speaker jack. Can I plug this into the main board or is this strictly used for another speaker cabinet. If so, what’s the speaker ohms? Reason for this is that the bass player on the other side of the stage can’t hear me that well.
- asked on Nov 17, 2024
Answer: Strictly for anther 8 ohm speaker. This is a powered output and plugging it into line level input will cause damage. Also, it only has 1 speaker jack, so using it will disable the on board speaker.

Wasn't even in the market for a new amp til i played the Tweed version...bye bye Super Champ XD. Nothing but, Clean and clear vintage Fender tone from the vintage voiced Jensen. I have 54 pickups in my Strat and its a match made in heaven. Groove Tubes sound great to my ear and this amp enjoys your favorite pedals too. Do yourself a favor and try one if you can find one that is....these don't last long when and if in stock.

This is a great amp. The tweed finish looks fantastic. Pros: The master volume and volume controls are great since you can dial in how much gain you want and still keep it at bedroom levels. The spring reverb sounds great (if anything it has too much reverb). The tone controls are great to fine tune to suit your guitar. It's also very loud when you want it to be. I've never played with it in a gig so I don't know if it can keep up or not. (they say it can if it's mic'd up) but it seems loud enough to me. It's "light" for a tube amp. (30lbs or so). Good value for the money. Cons: The reverb past 2 or 3 gives off some strange frequencies at higher volumes but it can get you to surf tones if you dial it in right. The tone controls take a bit to get used to but it's fine. Some guitars you need to turn the treble to 2-3, others you need to put it to 6-8.

If you're looking for those classic, jangly tones from your Strat, look no further. This thing is absolutely a steal for the price and unless you're after Hard Rock/Metal tones you'll find everything you need here. Lost a few points in the "Features" section as it could REALLY use a standby switch and it'd be a luxury to have an FX loop at this price point but other than that, it's amazing. To sum up: I've got amps ranging from Mesa Boogie Rectifier and Orange heads to Hughes + Kettner and Line 6 to Vox and other Fender combos. I play this Blues Jr by far the most. And I'm mostly a Hard Rock player. That should tell you something about how good this sounds.

I had a standard stock black BJ IV but I traded it in for the Tweed one having that unmistakable Jensen speaker. Now it sounds like a Fender. I don't know why Fender puts Celestion in a lot of their amps as they don't sound Fendery enough. Although Tweed is not my favorite color, the speaker makes up for it and the reverb actually sounded better than the standard issue amp.

Theses amps are hard to get for good reason. I had a Blues Junior IV for nearly three years and I thought it sounded good over the Eminence speaker in the III version but something kept drawing me to the Jensen speaker which came exclusively in the Tweed version. I set the IV with the same settings and could tell within seconds the Tweed was better, not just the speaker but the reverb sounded "springier". I typically set the Master at 11(out of 12) and the other volume about 2 with the treble set at 1, bass at 9 and mid at 2. The reverb I either keep at 3 to 5. The result is fairly clean like a Blackface then I put on a Tubescreamer for extra drive to dirty it up. I use the optional footswitch for the "fat" switch. The notes from a Strat are thicker with great clarity and definition and no extreme high end. Wished I bought one of these sooner. The Tweed fabric may get dirty and hard to clean but who cares. I had a Princeton before and this sounded better.

bought this amp for my daughter as I am an audio buff with several high end audio tube amps and felt this was a good route for my daughters quest to rocking her fender strat with quality sound. This amp is a read deal for the price and feels well constructed. The tweed finish and leather strap is a nice add on. I would rather prefer a vintage jewel light over the LED light it comes with but no big deal there. I would not hesitate to buy this amp again or recommend it to someone. Love tubes over solid state any day.

I've owned tons of amps like Marshall, Orange, Mesa, Kustom, Vox and more.... This one is the winner out of all of them!!!! It's versatile, light, loud, and easy to use. No bells and whistles just a solid sounding tube amp. I would recommend this to anyone. I play classic rock, country, blues, jazz and this amp does it all. My only complaint would be it needs an efx loop but other than that it's Awesome!

I bought this as a small home amp. It had spectacular user reviews. It uses the same tubes as my larger amps. All I can say is WOW.. The Blues JR covers everything from clean to unbelievable overdrive. No pedals needed. Now I spend my time trying to adjust my other larger amps to sound like this.

This amp is one of the best amp I have owned. I currently own 3 other Fender amps, but this one is special. The tone is rich and thick and has amazing sustain. Works great with pedals. It's very loud on it's own and mics up nicely to the board. Also sounds great at low volumes. This is a great looking amp and very portable for gigs. Money well spent.

This is just a great Fender Tube Amp.. My Fender American Special Telecaster just sounds fantastic thru it. I really like the 12 inch Jensen Speaker. I like the single channel it is simple and allows you to get back to that great Fender Tube sound. It is loud and really packs some punch. The reverb is very good and I usually run it about 2. The FAT switch gives a nice additional boost.

I am currently demoing this unit and it is incredible! I play a ton of U2 songs and it takes effect pedals really well. The amp has crystal clear tones and is also able to break up nicely at lower volumes. I plan to get one more of these amps so i can complete my twin AC15C1/Blues Junior Collection. I will be buying at least one of these. The finish and everything about these amps are fantastic

Nice little basic 15 watter that makes a great practice amp or gigging amp for smaller venues. I've been using this amp for 4 years and love the sound of the Jensen C12-N. Gives a nice vintage vibe to the tone. Only issue I've had is a bit of a scratchy pot. Also, the amp runs pretty hot so expect a change out of tubes every couple of years if you play it a lot. Overall, a great little amp with big sound that doesn't bust your back hauling around.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
