THIS IS THE ANSWER...

The Fulltone 2B is an amazing boost pedal, born from the "Boost" channel in the Fulldrive 3 (FD3) pedal. Tightly packed into an ultra small enclosure, with the battery tucked inside and engineered space-saving rear-mounted IN, OUT, and DC power jacks, this is the single channel Boost pedal you have been wishing for. Plus something completely unique in the world of boost pedals; a DYNAMICS knob!

Why does a guitarist need a "Boost" pedal?

A good booster can solve a lot of problems in the modern guitarist's rig, because today's pedalboards average 8 or more pedals. Ever played through a 10 foot guitar cable straight into a great tube amplifier? The feel, the dynamics, the fat tone...makes you want to play! Then you connect to your overpopulated pedalboard and suddenly the sound is tiny, thin, with diminished lows, cardboard mids, and scratchy thin highs. This is where a good booster comes in handy, because all that wire and all those connections reduce your signal by a measurable amount with each passing effect in your signal chain. Add a good booster and you can recoup a lot of that lost gain, tone, and reactive interplay between you and your lovely tube amp. Suddenly the "touch" is back.

Whether the Booster is ON or OFF, you only need one.

That's the problem with other boosters...once they're OFF, they cease to offer a high quality unity-gain buffer to drive the long cables, so you end up having to buy TWO boosters, one set to "unity gain" and the other set to do your Volume changes! A better solution is the 2B, its unity-gain JFET amp buffers your signal when the pedal is turned OFF...and when the 2B is turned ON; the only difference is now the GAIN knob comes into play allowing you to set the desired boost up to 20dB! This is what differentiates the 2B from the FD3's Boost Channel...the FD3 is true-bypass whereas the 2B has the added benefit of being buffered-bypass.

A great Booster without the shrill top end.

The problem with other boosters is that the more you turn them up, the more highs they add. Not the case with the 2B. Fulltone has gone the extra mile and bought the best JFET opamp, giving a subtle roll-off of the harsh ultra-high frequencies as you roll the LEVEL knob clockwise past 12 o'clock. It's subtle, you may not hear it, but you WON'T hear that shrill top end that other boosters can impart!

Reduce distortion with the DYNAMICS knob.

The 2B offers something completely unique in the world of Boost pedals; a DYNAMICS knob. It has a subtle Germanium diode Limiter circuit that starts to slightly alter the feel of the notes being played as well as subdue the harsh transient spikes which can overload your amp's input. Those spikes can be fatiguing to your ears, to the amp, and to its speakers! Similar to using a limiter on the mix down of a song in the studio, the 2B's DYNAMICS feature helps you keep your place in the live mix...like a very smart compressor. This feature can make even an "ok" amp feel responsive and juicy, and will keep you from distorting the amp's input, a problem plaguing most booster pedals.

Specifications:
• Input Impedance: ultra-high 1.65mega ohms. Not a chance of any interaction issues with guitars or other effects

• Size: 4.5" x 2.1" x 2.3"

This thing makes everything bigger and more badas$. Even off, the buffer is essentially the boost circuit at unity, so it's still there, driving a full fat signal to your amp.
Turn it up, your clean is beefier. Up more, your clean goes edge of break up.
Into dirt channel, it doesn't give volume (cuz low headroom w high gain), so it's extra gain, but just in the sweet spot.
I'm using it with Traynor YGL2.
Plays nice with other effects.
It's a muscle suit for your rig. More beef, less flab, just fab.

Im using a 1971 100 watt marshall superlead and I like using the Fulltone "OCD" pedal with my marshall and THATs ALl no Other pedals,However using a longer cord i gues sometimes causing so e signal loss even though all my cords are higher end cords. I bought the fulltone "2b" Boost pedal to correct any signal loss i might be having as sometimes at different volume changes i would lose some to e with yhe oce and it was not consistent tone until i put the "2bboost in front of the ocd and it sound INCREDIBLY SPECTACULAR and it improved the feel and to e TREMENDOUSLY and quite honestly ilI did not think i could get a better tone but thats what this 2b boost has accomblished running it together with my OCD pedal. Now because the"2b" is not true bypass and rather "Bufferedbypass,Wheb the 2b is shut off ot really affects the feel and tone of my ocd pedal and 71 marshall as the 2b must stay on all thetime. If you wNt this boost pedal for just to boost your tone for solos beware as wheb ot is shut off it will affect the feel and to e of your overdrive pedal, perhaps if one has alot of pedals on their pedal board then the 2b buffered bypass is a really God send ,but i think i would of liked if the 2b pedal was true bypassed instead of buffered bypass. But leave this pedal on and it is just great sounding and u can adjust the feel with the dynamics knob if you need too ,

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
