Great unit! As a 40 year performance vet, I've learn that you need to Read The F%$n Manual when it comes to tech in order to get maximum utility and reliability. The only users of the G70 that ever have an issue are those that just take it out of the box, and fail to follow the simple steps to optimal performance. For example, you need to optimize the channel AT THE VENUE, not in you home practice room, and expect it to be optimal at venue. I hang around with about a dozen other long-time performance pros. 9 of the 12 ise the G70. 'Nuff said!

I have had great luck with this wireless. Sounds good, built like a tank, easy on batteries. Got it on sale so it was great deal!

This is actually the second unit I have tried. L&M customer service was really flexible and allowed me to exchange the 1st unit due to unreliability. All the firmware is updated so that's not the issue. I always scan for the optimal channel at the start of the gig so that shouldn't be the issue. Bottomline is both of these units suffer from a lot of dropouts. Completely hit and miss as to when the dropouts happen. Avoid this unit.

I have used this system for about 6 months and about 20 gigs and never had a problem. I have two sending units so it makes it easy to switch between acoustic and electric. no loss in signal and no loss in tone. love it never going to cords again.

Since my August 24th review, I have not experienced any problems with my G-70...no scene losses, or "dead" areas. I use it for at least an hour a day, and have only replaced the AA batteries once. I am able to stand down on my dock and have my amp cranked back in the house 100 yards away, no problem, as long as my pedals are by the door! Of course the "latency" I hear is due to the speed of sound, not the G-70. I can only think that to lose my scenes like that, I must have somehow accidentally "restored" it to factory...my pedal area IS a bit busy at times! Love the product - could be a bit less expensive though. Wish 2nd transmitters would come down in price, I'd buy 3 more.

Firstly, let me start by saying I love everything about the Relay G70...except when I don't. Tone? Great, I can't tell the difference from cords...not like the old days of VHF/UHF systems. Versatility? Amazing...I have my LP wireless to me Line 6 amp, and my Strat WIRED (aux in!) to my DeVille. And my acoustic is sent out the XLR to the board. (Currently I have just the one transmitter. Any combination can be had: amp A/amp/XLR out C....AND there is an always-on line out for tuners (although it has an internal one). In my case, I have it going straight into my talkbox. These various settings are stored in memory and called "scenes" and we can have up to 10. It's great, what a tremendous unit! Until....until this afternoon while recording, when ALL my scenes disappeared, and all that was left was the default "Scene 1", out to amp A and the PA. Auuughhh!! The worst part? Everyone SAID "Ah man, don't use a wireless to record!" But it is just SO convenient to have these different scenes, and just put one guitar down, and pick up another, and click the footswitch for its "scene". So it's great that Line 6 has live customer service, but after spending 25 minutes on hold to California, a rather pleasant sounding young lady had no idea what I was talking about, or even what a G70 was. She asked around and there was no help forthcoming. She said take it back to the store. So I have re-written all my scenes to see if it happens again, or what. It's a great unit, buy clearly it is simply unacceptable to have all one's settings wiped out! Imagine a keyboard player turning on his Korg and all the presets were gone, lol, no pianos, no organs, no glockenspiels...just a buzzy sawtooth wave! I REALLY want this pedal to work, and so I am going to give it a 4, in case I just got a bad one: we shall see, and if the ability is there, I will update.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
