A versatile, decent sounding amp for the price of a stomp box? Yep. It's the perfect addition to my home studio to get away from the cliche DI bass sound. No hum at all from the amp. Very quiet, even with a vintage single coil bass plugged in. Yet there's way more volume than a home application requires. I can see this being handy for small combo jamming and gigs. No XLR out, but hey, I've paid more for DI boxes. The foldback angle is actually useful, pointing the speaker at your head rather than knees. I can't believe this thing has the Ampeg logo on it.

Great little amp for practicing at home! I've been a long time owner of Ampeg products, ranging from their most expensive, to least expensive items. You'll find nothing but quality in every piece of their lineup. You won't be disappointed with the BA-108

J'ai un excelent son de bass avec ce petit amplie. Très simple. J'aime beaucoup le look installé sur l'angle (floor wedge). Super léger.

I needed a smaller bass amp for coffee shop gigs (and not hauling my 4x12, 80 lb rig around town), and this little unit does the job fantastic. It is light and, most importantly, sounds great. The only drawback is that it has no line out, but I already had a bass di box, so not an issue for me. Excellent for practices and smaller gigs. Highly recommended.

Bought it for practice and working up new songs so wasn't looking for bells and whistles. Plus at $129 new the price was right. Ended up using it on a live to air radio show and was very pleased. It just plain did the job it was asked to do..... backing an acoustic guitar and two vocalists.

I bought this Bass Combo Amp in August, 2017 after reading all of the Reviews and trusting Ampeg's quality. I was very disappointed in this Bass Amp, as just after a few days it developed a Rattling/vibrating sound that was very annoying. After doing a more extensive research on this Amp, i discovered that the Ampeg BA Series are notorious for poorly cabinet construction which results in Rattling/vibrating. Many purchasers reported opening up the unit, taking the speaker out and re-gluing the interior of the Cabinet to remedy the annoying Rattling/vibrating noise while the Amp was operating.

Just bought my first bass guitar and amp. Did some research before making the big purchase, and after reading the reviews and having the associate (Liam) at Long + Mcquade Pickering demonstrate this product for me, decided it was the best way to go. This amp is an amazing product, very versatile, aesthetics are great, sound is incredible. The price and quality is second to none.....very, very happy that i spent my hard earned money on this new toy! Rock on peeps!

I picked this amp up after buying my first bass. I came to the bass side by way of the guitar so I am no stranger to the limitations what a practice amp can do and I wasn't expecting much but when I plugged in and played my first note I heard that legendary Ampeg tone as clear as a bell! The notes I played were clear and loud...even at a low volume. The only thing to keep in mind is because the built in speaker is designed for bass guitar, the Aux In inputs will colour the sound of whatever is plugged in to it. I suspect for most people this won't be an issue but for other people, it will be. This is the only amp in the series that doesn't include the Scrambler circuit. This is a little unfortunate as it is a cool feature however I understand the need to keep this amp at its incredible price point. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase an amp in this series again if something were to happen to it however, I would likely buy the BA110 to get the Scrambler.

Truly the best bass amp you can get for this price. Sounds great and it can either whisper when practicing at home at night or scream on stage. Whether you're an experienced musician or a practicing beginner this will be worth every dollar you spend on it

this is an amazing starter amp and well worth the price! I think it even sounds better than the fender in the same price range.

I have always been a fan of the sound from Ampeg amps. So when I started playing bass again and saw this little practice amp for $120 I had to try it out. The sound is exactly what I expected from Ampeg and the power surprised me. Although the website advertises 15watts of power it is actually 25 watts. It has plenty of low end punch and as a casual player this is the perfect amp. The sound is so good that I just don't want to stop playing, even when my hand cramps up.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
