Bass Station II is an analogue mono-synth based on the classic original Bass Station but re-worked for the 21st century. It has two filters, two oscillators plus a third sub-oscillator, patch save and a fully analog effects section. Add a step sequencer, arpeggiator, full sized keys and a powerful modulation section and you have the makings of a synth that is built for bass, but capable of so much more.

What is it?
Bass Station II is an analog mono-synth with a talent for bass, but a sound-engine that is versatile enough to kick out sharp leads and crisp arpeggios. It brings the best elements of the original Bass Station into a brand new design with re-worked modulation, effects, filters and more; like the Bass Station, but a much much bigger sound. The signal path is pure analog - including the effects section. The hardware has been laid out in modules with dedicated pots, switches, sliders and buttons for all major parameters. Critically, you can store and recall patches on Bass Station II. It comes with 64 killer factory presets, space for 64 of your own sounds on the hardware, and you can store more on your computer.

The key-mech consists of 25 full sized keys that are velocity sensitive with assignable aftertouch. It has been developed as a synth-action keyboard, where each key is individually sprung so it is light to the touch and highly responsive to the synth engine. Bass Station II is a fully class compliant MIDI device with MIDI I/O on 5 pin din ports for connecting to other MIDI outboard and with your computer over USB. You can even connect an external instrument and run it through Bass Station II's analog filter and effects.

Bass Station II Producer Series Vol.1 Soundpack

Whether youre creating dance, funk, electronica, indie, pop or something totally experimental, these 46 Patches will add true analogue depth to your music. THis synth has been given so many large updates since ive bought it that I have really started to think of Novation as a very generous company. Most recently collaborating with aphex twin on some new features, this thing still feels fresh after owning it for about ten years now. It sounds great and is very easy to use. It just has a lot of features for a synth of this price. Only thing i docked marks for was the build quality is not that strong. THat said ive dropped mine a few times and it hasnt broke in any way. If you are on the line about buying this I would 100% recomend you do

This synth has constantly impressed me in the months since I bought. After years of using VSTs, I wanted an analog companion for live applications and this thing nails it. While the factory patches aren't all that fantastic and the sequencer leaves a little to be desired (number of steps is lacking and the pattern knob is a little strange), this thing sounds huge and is a joy to play.

Those new patches absolutely make this synth SHINE - much better than the presets the synth shipped with. Great synth now!

For the money, nothing on the market compares. This thing is deep and with the latest patch update, even deeper. There are so many options with sound creation and you don't have to worry about taking pictures of patch be wise it has the best of both worlds : analog signal path and digital patching and knob memory. I have had this unit for a few years now and still continue to find uncharted territory using the parameters reached through the keys + shift button. Unreal synth for the money.

I sorely missed my Moog Slim Phatty, and was looking for something monophonic (with knobs) to cure the disconnect I get when using software-based synths. Boy, what a surprise! Not only did it sound as good as the Moog I remember, the sequencer and Ring-Mod are deadly tools - there are enough features in this synth to keep my busy tweaking for hours. The overdrive is not as "musical" as the Slim/Little Phatty, but nice nonetheless. Includes a great selection of presets that are imaginative, inspiring, and creative sounding. (Tried the Monologue at the same time - although a nice synth, it sounded thin and plain in comparison.) Personally I like to include some delay and reverb - and I can lost for hours... Highly recommended. A stunning synth for the money.

Probably the best value mono synth out there right now. Beefy sound with 2 oscillators and a sub (sub slaved to oscillator 1), noise generator, 24/12db HP/LP/BP and Acid filters are great, pretty flexible LFOs, onboard arp and sequencer are a lot of fun and with oscillator sync, ring mod, and Oscillator Filter Mod and distortion adding some flavour to things, you have a lot of options with this synth. Get one today, you won't regret it.

Well made and feels really nice. It works smoothly. Has a "pure analogue audio signal path" and sounds really great. Makes very nice deep basses and great sounding leads, pads and fx sounds. especially when you use the output with some plugins. I have even used the input port with a Moog Minitaur, electric acoustic and electric guitar. It works great and it does more then expected. An overall great value.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
