The LL6 A.R.E. offers many of Yamaha's exclusive features. The solid Engelmann Spruce top is treated with A.R.E., and together with a modified bracing design, the sound has become more powerful and loud while still maintaining excellent balance. To fit to comtemporary player's needs, the LL6 A.R.E. is equipped wth a Zero-Impact Pickup, ready for performance or recording at anytime without sacrificing its traditional look or full acoustic resonance.

FEATURES:
• Original Jumbo (Dreadnought) Body Type
• Solid Engelmann Spruce Top Treated with A.R.E.
• Rosewood Back & Side
• High Comfort Traditional Neck Profile
• 5ply neck
• SRT Zero Impact Pickup

A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise controll of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.

New Designed Bracing Pattern
A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone.

High Comfortable Traditional Neck Profile
A reevaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits todays raditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.

5-Ply Necks
New 5-ply neck designs are constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies. The design integrates the neck, head, and body into a single unit creating a powerful, rich sound. This approach also creates a strong, stable neck that resists twisting and warping.

LL Body
This traditional Yamaha body style is known for its rich volume, a wide dynamic range, and excellent tonal balance. Beautiful, transparent tone is the result of a design that has been refined by artists around the globe.

I have owned this guitar for almost 3 years now. The neck fits my hand perfectly. The guitar stays in tune very well. Since I am old, I put Martin Silk and Steel strings on. There is less tension on these strings and it makes it a lot easier to play and fingerpick. The sound is full, the pickup works fine, all in all a very nice guitar.

This guitar is amazing. I was helping family purchase a guitar for someone and tried this beauty out. I wanna keep it now. I have never played any Yamaha guitars before but I have been converted. Amazing guitar! Sounds just as good as any 2k+ guitar in the show room. Does not have an onboard eq. which would be nice if plugging in.

I've owned this guitar for three years now and if anything, I like it even more now than when I first heard the A.R.E. sound. It continues to play exceedingly easy and the rich, full sound still rolls out of it almost effortlessly. I have five guitars and love them all for different reasons, but this LL6 remains my favorite. I highly recommend this as your next guitar that won't break the bank and performs well above its price range.

The Yamaha LL16 sung like an angel the first time I picked it up. After that, I didn't even consider my other options. I wanted this guitar. The craftsmanship is flawless, tone rich and thick, and I love the unobtrusive pickup. When I purchased it, I got my local L&M to install a strap holder on the neck side. I've recorded two professional albums with it so far, and I can't get enough of the sound. For any beginning guitar player, this is ideal. But the quality is also great for musicians who gig on a regular basis.

I have had this guitar since December 2019. I have owned various guitars over the years...i went in to Long and McQuade to check out their new store and was blown away after playing this LL6. I played a Martin D-28 which was next to it and was so impressed with the Yamaha. I left and could not get this guitar out my head, went back a few days later and bought it...best purchase i have made when it comes to a guitar.

Yamaha has once again built a great instrument that is priced at far less than you would expect. The A.R.E. treatment of the top and the new bracing pattern makes the sound just roll out effortlessly and yes, it does sound like a guitar that has aged naturally. The pickup system also works well, although some non-intrusive instrument mounted controls would be nice. If you only haev one guitar, this should be it.

This is an amazing sounding guitar. I own a Taylor 816 as well and bought this for a kicker. WOW! The sound and volume of this guitar are nothing but awesome. It is easy to play, the neck feels good, the electronics work nicely also. It is solid and well made with good tuners it comes with Elixer strings which are also the best in my opinion. You will not be disappointed if you buy this.

Went into L&M to look for a replacement for my Martin D-16 and was initially eyeing another Martin, a few lower-end Gibsons and even financing myself an SJ-200. However, a salesman recommended I give an LL6 a try and it's been one of the better guitars I think I've owned. Tonally great, plays phenomenally and seems to be beautifully made. Great guitar for the money!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
