My main complaint of the FD 8 is that the hi hat is too quiet when operating with your foot. I play jazz and I like to hear the beats on two and four and this pedal does not have enough volume. One option is to turn down the other drums but then when you hit the hi hat with a stick it is super loud. The other complaint is that over time the rubber actuator inside the pedal gets stiff and soon the pedal doesn't work well. Not really a great design.
