These sound great on my bongos, but after trying for almost two yearscwith my conga/quinto set, was unable to get rid of the ping-y overtones without having a dead drum sound. I went back to the cheapo heads my congas originally came with. For more traditional conga/quinto tones, I'd recommend real skins over these.
