The OD Glove is unlike any of the overdrives we offer and great! - Mike Matthews

Feature

• Versatile MOSFET overdrive/distortion
• Tone Shift switch
• Selectable 9V or 18V internal voltage
• True bypass
• Tough, compact die-cast chassis
• 9 Volt battery included
• Optional 9.6DC-200 power supply available

CONTROLS

GAIN Knob
Controls the amount of input gain and overdrive. As you turn this knob clockwise, the OD GLOVE ranges from sweet cleans to full-power distortion.

TONE Knob
The TONE knob on the OD GLOVE filters out high frequencies. When fully clockwise, the full tonal range of the overdrive comes through. As the knob is turned counter-clockwise, high frequencies are rolled off. Use this to achieve a smoother tone or to reduce any high-frequency harshness.

VOL Knob
Sets the output level of the OD GLOVE.

TONE SHIFT Switch
This switch controls the mid-frequency emphasis of the TONE knob. Setting this switch to OFF creates a flatter EQ, with some emphasis on low mids. Setting the SHIFT switch to ON emphasizes mids and high mids. There is also a small increase in volume when the switch is set to ON.

FOOTSWITCH and LED
The Footswitch selects whether the OD GLOVE is engaged or in true bypass mode. When the effect is engaged, the LED is lit.

INPUT Jack
This 1/4 jack is the audio input for the OD GLOVE. The input impedance is 300kOhm.

AMP Jack
This 1/4 jack is the audio output from the OD GLOVE. The output impedance depends on the VOLUME setting, ranging from 12kOhm to 100kOhm.

9V Power Jack
The OD Glove can run off of a 9V battery or you can use an optional 9VDC AC Adapter capable of delivering at least 50mA to the 9V power jack. We recommend the EHX9.6DC-200. The AC Adapter must have a center negative plug. The battery may be left in or taken out when using an AC Adapter. The OD Glove draws 12mA at 9VDC. The maximum voltage that may be connected to the 9V Power Jack is 10VDC.

INTERNAL VOLTAGE SWITCH
The OD GLOVE includes an internal slide switch to change its internal power supply voltage from 9V to 18V. Operation at 18V results in a less compressed, more open tone that may work better for some guitar/amplifier combinations. Operation at 9V results in a tighter sound, and reduces the current draw to 5mA. Experiment with the voltage setting at full volume to find the best sound for your playing style. Please remember: do not exceed 10VDC at the 9V Power Jack. The OD Glove generates the 18V internally.

To select the operating voltage, remove the four screws on the bottom of the OD GLOVE and take off the bottom plate. There is a slide switch near the input jack labeled Voltage Select. Slide this switch to the right for normal 9V operation. Slide it to the left for 18V operation. You do not need to change the battery or adapter when changing the internal voltage.

I am an OCD pedal lover and have several real ones and a couple of clones. I A-B'd this with my OCD 1.7 and it sounds pretty much identical. I will mention though, that the pedal sounded pretty thin and useless to me with the internal dip switch on the 9V setting. You need to switch it to 18V. Then it comes to life and you get those classic OCD tones.

This pedal sounds very nearly identical to the obsessive drive pedal after which it is modelled. I was happy to get this tone for a lot less money than the original. Build quality seemed good. I did however notice that the Volume control was extremely touchy while trying to obtain unity gain with the Gain control around noon. The slightest of turns would cause an excessive jump in output level. It was so bad that slightly bumping the pedal would result in a major shift in volume. I tried to live with it but ultimately it proved to be unworkable.

I’ve been a Tube Screamer guy all my life. But lately it just sounds overly mid-range-y and muddy sounding to my ears. I bought the EHX Soul Food and it wasn’t quite right. The Glove gives me exactly what I’m looking for, which is that always-on edge of breakup kinda deal. But the versatility of this pedal offers a lot more especially when you engage the tone switch and play with the 18v switch in the back...Bottom line, if you’re searching for a boutique style Swiss Army knife drive pedal for a budget price....buy this!

In short, if you love a Fulltone OCD pedal, you will absolutely love this pedal. Everything you would expect and more. My go to gain pedal from the moment I heard it. Love it!

I love this pedal, I play stoner/doom metal with various Gibsons through a laney gh50l. I've compared this to several overdrives and for me this is the one. It bites really nice and has an abundance of power. Very neutral too, can use for any genre. Overall very happy with my purchase and absolutely adore electro harmonix, best pedal company imo.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
