I have recently bought the Tannoy 802s and let me tell you they are the best in its category. An unqualified yes. They meet all my expectations. The frequencies are beautiful, from low to high, just perfect and honest. Did a lots of research before on reviews and compared them in the stores amongst its competitors. On the whole you can't go wrong with them.

First of all I love the Monitor Link. The bass is extremely well rounded and I have not experienced any annoying hum that some say they can hear. Treble was something I was a bit leary on after seeing some reviews, however the treble is crisp and non-complaint worthy. They are also very solid in fact the tweeter is apparently "poke-proof" as advertised as I fortunately found out when unboxing the speakers, oops! Overall awesome sound and the crossovers are sharply tuned! I totally recommend these speakers!

These are by far the worst sounding monitors I have ever heard. I am returning them. There's not much sense going into detail about how horrible these are but I'll just say that my $200/pair Presonus Eris 4.5 monitors have 5X the fidelity of these. Tannoy advertises these as having good bass... it's horrid. It sounds like one of those rice rockets with two huge cheap subs in the back rattling the trunk. NO definition to the base at all. It's just a single rumbling note. The highs and (non existant) mids aren't much better. Oh and to ice the cake, there is a buzz. Not a hiss, not a hum, a buzz that comes out of these at all times. Absolute garbage. I have these hooked up to a $600 TEAC UD-301 DAC and they sound like $100 computer speakers hooked up to onboard audio on a $50 motherboard. when I first listened to these when I got them home I said "Is this a joke?". I think it must be...
